I was terribly impressed by Dr. Stickler and his office staff! I enjoyed having a local office but understand it wasn't financially viable and hope he will consider networking with local doctors to re-establish the link between the cities.

He was very thorough in explaining the process and was happy to answer any and all of my (and my husband's) questions.

The follow-up appointments are scheduled in advance and he emphasizes the surgery is NOT a fix-all but a tool to help us better manage our lifestyles, including our weight control.

The education aspect was wonderful and very detailed. There are also support group meetings in various cities that can help.

Since this post suggests something 'negative' to say to be a little more 'helpful' - my only negative is it is sometimes hard to get appointments with him as he is so busy!

Dr. Stickler was wonderful. He was very understanding and compassionate and not to mention professional. Made me feel very comfortable.
Dr. Stickler's staff was very helpful and very friendly.
There is nothing that I do not like about Dr. Stickler. He is an angel sent from God.
I must let all future patients know that they can not choose a better doctor or staff.
Aftercare is the most important part of the whole process. It's a "life change". Dr. Stickler has throughly thought out every avenue toward a newer body image.
Dr. Stickler was honest and upfront about all risk of surgery. His staff also talks about all risks that can happen. The seminar that you attend first talks about all risks. Then in meeting with Dr. Stickler he talks about it to you not to mention his dietian and pychologist makes sure you understand everything that can happen.
I would rate Dr. Stickler a 10, out of a 10.

I know I researched for three years before deciding to go to Dr. Stickler for a surgical consult. The medical climate in West Virginia, because of malpractice insurance rates, made me nervous and not very hopeful about finding a surgeon in state that I could trust and who would be truely skilled. The understatement here is that I was so wrong to worry. Dr. Stickler is knowledgable, caring, and dedicated to his patients and his practice. He has gone so far beyond the accepted standard because he wants his patients to be as succesful as they can be. By having dieticians, psychologists, exercise physiologists, and great support people as part of his staff, he has created the optimum setting for your efforts in lifestyle change and the achievement of good health. He lets you know from the begining that this is YOUR journey but he will supply you with the best tools he can. It is up to you what you do with them.

I think my aunt said it best after meeting him only once, "It doesn't seem like just a career to him or even a business. It is like a calling." From what I have seen and experienced, I think she is right on.

Well, had my office visit. I was very impressed with the staff. They all seemed very professional while being caring and considerate. Everyone I talked to that day told me to ask anything I wanted to know or call if I thought of anything after I left. So far so good

Dr Stickler was very attentive and professional during the consultation. He did not make me feel as some physicians do that he was rushed or in a hurry. He wanted to ensure that I understood the surgery and the implications of it. He answered my questions(what few there were) completely. The Medabolix staff were very friendly and helpful during my first visit. The pre-op seminar and handouts are excellent in educating patients about this surgery.

Dr. Stickler and the staff at Lifequest are wonderful people. You can tell that they really care about you and want to help you become a healthy person. They make sure that you know everything there is about this surgery. I am just so thankful I found Lifequest. Dr. Stickler and his staff are a God send.

Dr Stickler is a very caring doctor. I was very impressed when I went to his seminar.
The office staff is very friendly & will help at any time, including trying to get certification through the post-op time. Dr. Stickler & his staff insists on post-op care. The surgery is the easy part. If you don't follow through, it will be a waste to have surgery done. Everthing adout this program is structured & if followed, it will change your life. I can't put into words how GREAT Dr Stickler is along with the whole staff. Never be afraid to ask questions. He will take the time to listen & will answer you if you have questions. I was going to another physician to have surgery, but found that he wasn't in my insurance coverage. I'm sure that he a good doctor, too, but there was reason for me to have to go to Dr. Stickler & I am very thankful for it, now.
If you are having second thoughts about having surgery, weigh out all pros & cons, decide what's best for you. If you choose surgery, then go to Dr Stickler's seminar.
