I had a very good first impression of Dr. Stickler and it has not changed over time.
His office staff is very good as well. Dr. Stickler and his staff listen to you and care about you before and after surgery.
Dr. Stickler and his staff puts great emphasize on after care and exercise. Dr. Stickler's office has monthly support group meetings and he encourages you to attend.
Dr. Stickler and his staff make sure you know the risks of surgery. I did not feel that nothing was "sugar coated". When I had my surgery, I feel I was very well informed of all the risks.
My overall rating is A+. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner were great.

I have only wonderful things to say about Dr. Stickler and his staff. The surgery went well and getting my approval for insurance went well. They are always there to answer questions and to assist in any way to help you. They are doing different programs to keep you up to date. I live about 2 1/2 hours away so I can't attend all support group meetings. They emphasize that surgery is not a cure all you have to make a life change or you will end up in trouble. They also want you exercising with no excuses. I was told of the risks of surgery and it has to be your own personal decision. I would highly recommend him as a surgeon and caring doctor. His bedside manner and his competence as a surgeon rank high.

My first impression of Dr. Stickler was that he was very friendly, and caring. While having my consult with him nothing changed they all really caring at Medabolix. There was nothing that I did not like about them. I would recommend them to anyone who is considering WLS. Not only do they educate you about your health after WLS, but they are very concerned and want to make sure that you stick with aftercare, and follow-up support for the rest of your life with them, and to make it easier for traveling patients like myself you can always call them, and I was told that the are in the process of putting their support classes online. They made sure that I ws aware of all the risk of surgery. I give Dr.Stickler and the satff of Medabolix a 10!

I assumed that Dr. Stickler would be like most physicians by hustling you in and out of his office in a hurry. I found just the opposite to be true. He was just like sitting down and talking to a co-worker. He was never in a hurry and went over all the benefits and risks of surgery. I think he wants the best outcome for all of his patients.

When I first met Dr. Stickler in person he seemed to me to be a very down to earth and kind man. My first impression of him has not changed, in fact he is someone I feel comfortable enough to joke and carry on with.
Dr. Stickler's staff is excellent. I have had a lot of contact with his RN's Mellissa & Matt they're so sweet and helpful. Even the ladies that answer the phones(secretaries (sp?)) are very nice and friendly as well. There isn't anything I would say that I don't like about Dr. Stickler. The only thing I could complain about is his after hour answering service, they're sometimes rude. Dr. Stickler and his staff definitely stress the importance of aftercare, and also want to keep in touch with you for your lifetime. I feel Dr. Stickler was very blunt about the risks of the gastric bypass surgery. I would give Dr. Stickler and his staff a 10 overall. Dr.Stickler and his staff are a joy to be around and great health care providers.

My first impression of Dr Stickler was that he was a vey nice and compassionate man who cares about what he does. He was patient and didn't seem to rush the session. He was very informative and answered all the questions that me and my husband had. His staff is one of the best that I have met. Dr. Stickler emphasized aftercare. His office has what is considered to be the best before and aftercare program. He was very open about the risks of surgery. So far, Dr. Stickler seems to be the best choice when undergoing Gastric Bypass.

I met with Dr.Stickler in May of 2004. He and his staffed worked with me and my insurance company to achieve all goals that had to be achieved. I felt safe and secure with Dr. Stickler as my doctor. I felt he had enough experience in his field to do a great job. Dr. Stickler and his staff are wonderful set of professionals that are helping me to achieve my weight loss goal. I finally had my surgery in June of 2005. I had very little if no pain after the surgery. I had the laproscopic surgery on Tuesday and I was out of the hospital and walking around quite well on Thursday afternoon. I have already recommended Dr. Stickler to many people that are looking into the surgery. I fell Dr. Stickler is a great surgeon. His staff of nurses and other professionals are just that very professional. He has both surgical competence, bedside manner. I thank him for the great job he is doing.

I was so nervous when I first met Dr. Stickler that I relied on his reputation. Since surgery, I better understand the accuracy of that reputation. I did think he seemed kind of young but I work with pretty smart kids who are much younger than him so I decided to not worry about that aspect. His staff is excellent. Friendly but first and foremost extremely competent.
I really can't think of anything I don't like about him. I had to call his office after surgery and my calls were returned both times in less than 15 minutes. Both times my needs were met and I was not made to feel bad afterwards for calling.
The aftercare program so far seems great.
The more I read on the OH website, the more thankful I am for Dr. Stickler. Many of the negative aspects of surgery, he eliminates ie pre-op prep, brushing teeth, drinking, showering etc.
Dr. Stickler did point out the risk of surgery and analyzed with me my own risk. I appreciated the time (not so much to scare me to death; not so little as to seem blase) he spent.
I would rate him as excellent overall.
I think that his surgical competence is better, but his bedside manner is great too. My husband really appreciated his "conference" while I was in recovery.
I recently attended my 6-month check-up. I was very pleased with the amount of information I was given and the quality of care.
