Daniel Stickler Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I met Dr. Stickler in October of 2006, my first impression of him was very down to earth and comforting, he didn't make you feel like a number he made you feel like a person. And his staff is wonderful from the nutritionist to the front desk, they are fabulous!!!rnI had my surgery May 8, 2007 and through whole pre-op he and his staff were wonderful. And after the surgery I have had some bumps along the way and I would not want another Dr. other than Dr. Stickler he is wonderful I am so glad that I am taking this journey with Dr. Stickler and Medabolix...thank you so much for giving me my life back....

How wonderful it would be if all doctors treated their patients like Dr. Stickler treats his. He takes the necessary time to make each patient feels at ease, he makes sure the WLS process is understood and that the patient is aware of all the risks, not just the rewards. His staff reflects his work ethic and professionalism. Everyone there treats their obese clients like equals, not like a sub-species like some people do. Dr. Stickler puts you at ease immediately by talking directly to you, not down to you. He obviously cares about the health of his patients and wants each of them to succeed as they restore their health by having the weight loss surgery. I recommend him highly to anyone that needs the surgery. He is the best and has the best staff of any doctor in the Kanawha Valley. rnFOLLOW-UP: down 13 lbs post-op. Had staples removed on 7/2. Everything healing well. Dr. Stickler's staff is excellent. I feel like I've known Kelli all my life - she seems to be as emotionally connected to my healing as my daughter's are - can't fake that. This was definately the right surgeon for me.

Dr Stickler is a very fine surgeon. My first impression of him was that he kind, and very professional. His office staff is very helpful and informative. He has a very extensive aftercare and makes sure you know all of the risks of the surgery. He has great bedside manner and surgical competence. He is very highly recommended.

I think Dr. Stickler and his staff are great. They have been there any time I needed them. I found him to be upfront about any question and risks about this type of surgery. He has a wonderful bedside manner and a great sense of humor that made me feel at ease the first time I saw him. I have to feel comfortable about a doctor before I would ever dare let them do a surgery like this. My surgery date was 1/30/07. rnrnKatrina Brn p.s Kelli is great too!!!!

I am very well pleased with Dr. Stickler and his staff I don't think that I could have chosen a more better Dr. and I highly recommend him to anyone that I tell about having the gastric bypass surgery.

Daniel Stickler was awesome when we sat dwon and talked. He told me that I needed to have a sleep apnea test before he would consider performing the gastric bypass surgery. I think he is very thorough.

First impression - greatrnThe whole office staff is great. They took as much time as you needed. I live in a different time and any time I call I get great customer service from them. Diane is the Insurance Specialist and she definately knows her stuff. Would definately recommend them to anyone else considering this surgery.

I REALLY LIKED DR. STICKLER THE FIRST TIME I MET HIM AND THAT HAS NOT CHANGED! I FEEL THAT HE IS A VERY CARING AND SKILLED SURGEON. DR. STICKLER HAS A WONDERFUL STAFF. EVERYONE IS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THEY HAVE A REALLY GREAT AFTERCARE PROGRAM THAT THEY STRESS HIGHLY! DR. STICKLER DID NOT SUGAR COAT ANYTHING WHILE DISCUSSING THE RISK OF SURGERY. I WOULD DEFINATELY RATE DR. STICKLER AND THE STAFF AT MEDABOLIX A 10!

Although I had a bit of trouble finding Medabolix (yahoo maps lie lol), I was thoroughly and completely impressed with him as well as his staff.

What should future patients know about him? Stickler really likes for his patients be informed and inquisitive during his visits. But he does not speak in 'doctor-ese'. He explains it medically and then breaks it down so even the simplest minds could understand it. That was wonderful!

My rating of him/staff overall? 9 of 10. Their laid-back style was great but it did allow some snafus, but nothing major or worth worrying about. I would recommend him to anyone at this point!
