I have posted about Dr. Stickler somewhere else on this site but cannt find it. I had my surgery in November of 2002. I was well informed of all aspects of the surgery due to the seminar I was required to attend. I cannt say enough about Dr. Sickler and his staff. They are concerned with your question, no matter how ridiculos and I have never had to wait long for someone to call be back about a question I had. That means alot to me. Dr. Sticler Knows his business, so to speak. He gives you the information you need and gives it to your staight so you know what to expect. The post op care is awesome, I have never felt like I was alone. I can only say wonderful things about Dr. Stickler and the lifequest staff. Lynn

I first met Dr. Stickler at a seminar in April 2003. I was very impressed. He seemed guinely interested in what people had to say and was very knowledgable. Meeting with Dr. Stickler for my consultation just boosted my impression of him. He was willing to wrok with me to get all necessary paper work done. His staff was just as willing to help as Dr. Stickler.. The PA, Dietician, OM, Receptionist and Nurse were all as nice as could be and very helpful.I later met the insurance coordinator and she was just wonderful. I wonder how mnay times she would have liked to hang up on me but it never showed in her voice. As of right now, 1 week post op, I have nothing to say negative about LifeQuest. It is an all-a-round program that takes you from the food, to exercise, to the emotionsl side. The question is asked, "Which is better, surgial competence or bedside manner?" Of course I would pick surgical competence but I did not have to make that choice becasue Dr. Stickler has both!

Dr. Stickler was very thorough. Told me the good and bad. I realy like the Doctor. He attends our support group meetings.
Dr. Stickler is a "10." The doctor and complete staff are very competent and personable. Follow-up and aftercare are a very important component of Dr,. Stickler's Lifequest Program. Dr. Stickler is the best.

Dr. Stickler was an excellent surgeon. I admit I was a little warey of even going to a bariatric surgeon at first but it was honestly the first time I've felt completely comfortable in a doctor's office. Dr. Stickler seemed to sympathize with my battle with my weight and outlined both the pros and cons of the surgery. He also took the time to speak with my father, who as an R.N., had plenty of questions.
Dr. Stickler's program, Lifequest, is probably the most comprehensive in the state and maybe even the country. I feel I have so much support through this journey and know that whenever I have a question, SOMEONE will be there for me to talk with.

Dr. S was and is very interested in each of his patients and works hard to see that each of us is equipped with the knowledge to make a successful weight loss journey. I am impressed with the comprehensive follow up program that he offers, including nutrition consults, physical activities, support group, educational seminars. He will provide you with any information you need to make the decision to have the surgetry. I like that his practice is not exclusively surgical weight loss and that he does offer alternatives.
I feel a full partner in my medical care with him and his practice and I appreciate the thoroughness of his approach to total health care for his patients. I would recommend him with out reservation.

Wow! What can I say? This man save my life! My first impression was that he is very intelligent, highly skilled, and an expert in the surgical treatment of obesity. He is genuinely interested in each and every one of his patients and wants to see them acheive a healthier life.
His office staff is also very friendly and helpful- on an occasion they have seemed very busy and a little rushed, but have always met my needs. One thing I really like about everyone in that office is that they don't treat you like a fat person- you know the look. They see YOU and not a stereotype.
Future patients need to know that they will need to attend a seminar before an office appt. will be scheduled, and it may take several months to get into a seminar.
Aftercare is the best thing about Dr. Stickler's program-the whole team is involved in helping each person navigate their way. Jennifer and Justin, the fitness trainers are great- they provide encouragement and challenge me to do a little more every time I see them, which really means a lot to me. Although I haven't taken full advantage of the classes offered twice weekly, the ones I have attended have been very helpful. I have made one of my goals to attend one class per week- no excuses!
The risks of surgery were well covered in the seminar and during initial consultation. Questions are always encouraged and adequately answered.
Overall, I would rate Dr. Stickler a "10"- a great surgeon, highly skilled and technically proficient with a regular guy bedside manner- a PARTNER with you, not a bystander or cold fish.

My first impression was that he was a caring person. He really cared about the fact that I was obese and wanted to help me. That first impression has never changed. His staff has been wonderful to me, they know my name and go out of their way to make sure that if I have a problem or need an appointment or just to talk about something, they take care of it. Future patients should know they will receive the same care that I did and that the Lifequest program will enhance their weight loss. we were told what to expect and were never lied to about the risks involved. I cannot honestly think of anything bad to say about him.

My 1st impression of Dr. Stickler was very favorable. He conducted himself at the informational seminar in a very professional manner. I have found him to a very caring individual who is NOT in business just to make money. He obviously cares about his patients. His office staff is great. They are friendly, well trained and very outgoing. I can't say there is anything I could say that I dislike about this doctor or his staff although I'm told his exercise therapist is jokingly refered to as an excercise TERRORIST. The after-surgery aspect of his program and patient education is a big part of his practice. He is very up-front about explaining the risks of the surgery. On a scale of 1-10 I'd have to give the good doctor probably a 25. Since I'm still a week and a half from my surgery date I can't comment on his surgical competence or bedside manner although I've heard that both are excellent from every one of his patients I've talked to. Updated 7/03: I forgot to come back and update this before now. I've dropped a little over 150 lbs. so far - from 450 down to about 298. Dr. Stickler did a great job with the surgery and I had no complications. Aside from the 'window of misery' thing, I haven't had any problems. I would recommend my doctor very highly. His office staff (PA, nurse, dietitian, psychologist) is the greatest too - even the excercise terrorist (sorry Jennifer - couldn't resist).

My first impression of Dr. Stickler is that he is a very caring doctor. He takes the time with each of his patients, he doesn't rush around like some doctors do. He listens intently to your concerns and I honestly believe that he cares about your views and concerns. The staff is great. Very pleasant and very helpful. Special thanks to Ann for helping me get in sooner than expected.

I recently attended a workshop at the UPMC Magee's Women's Hospital and met Dr. Eid and some of his co-workers. I had the opportunity to ask him questions about the surgery and I appreciated his willingness to answer them.
He seemed to be concerned with his patient's care and well-being.
His staff seemed to be well organized and up-to-date on procedures.
He explained the risks of the surgery and how important that taking vitamin supplements and working with them as a team to gain success from the surgery.
Overall, I would rate him highly. I was diagnosed with PCOS and he has special interests in the effects of GBS on patients with PCOS, which also makes him my choice as a surgeon.
I believe honesty, and competence go hand-in-hand when it comes to human life.
Dr. Eid seemed well suited for the task of dealing with morbidly obese patients, and I look forward to him giving me the tools to succeed in a positive and healthy future. :)
My insurance denied my surgery at UPMC Magee's Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, because it was out of network and so was Dr. George Eid. I was disappointed in the decision, but the insurance referred me to Dr. Daniel Stickler in Charleston, West Virginia.
I just had my consultation with Dr. Stickler, and I feel at ease after meeting him. He was very attentive to my questions and answered them while taking time to listen to my concerns and fears. I feel secure in my decision to have Dr. Stickler as my surgeon, and would recommend him and the Lifequest staff to anyone needing help to fight obesity in their lives.
