Mischelle is doing GREAT!!!!! So much better than the doctors ever thought. It is very likely that she will be going home on Monday or Tuesday of this coming week. Isn't that fantastic news!!! She is still not allowed to eat so she will continue to be fed through IV. I believe she should be able to start drinking water tomorrow or Monday. That has been a pretty rough battle there. As you know the doctors had to leave her incision open after her last surgery. They attempted to close it up yesterday but were unable to do so. It seems she had a lot of excessive blood in the wound (which is normal), but they were afraid of it forming blood clots if the wound was closed. So I'm not sure if she will be having home health care come in daily to clean and repack the wound and help with her feeding or not.

Hi Mischelle. I am saying little prayers for you. We met at a support group meeting. Remember, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. You stay strong and a few months down the road this will just be a bad memory and you will be 50 lbs lighter!

Oh so glad to read you're doing so much better Mischelle. I scan the message board everyday looking for an update about your recovery. Guess I've sort of adopted you, LOL. I loved your positive outlook before your surgery and I'm happy to read you've kept it through all your troubles. I know you'll be up and out of there real soon.

Wanted to give you all an update on Mischelle. Unbelievingly, she is doing much better than the doctors thought she would. She never even had to go to ICU afterall!!!! She spent one full night in recovery and then because she was doing so well, they sent her back to her regular room. She says she is feeling MUCH better now that all that ickiness is out of her. She says that she is not in any pain (which is great to hear). She has been coughing up a storm, which again, the doctors think is fantastic and told her to keep it up. At least that way she won't get pneumonia!! Her spirits seem to be very good considering all she has been through lately. She said, "I'm a fighter"! Please keep her and her family in your daily thoughts and prayers as it really does help!
