Mischelle, many good wishes and warm thoughts are being sent your way as you begin your journey to a new and healthy life! I am almost 5 months out and have lost 70 lbs., feel so much better, take so much less medication, and feel it was all worth it. The toughest part is the first 8 weeks, healing from the surgery and learning how to eat, once you pass that mark, you will feel terrific. Just remember, WALK, WALK, WALK, DRINK, DRINK, DRINK, and PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN!!

Have you ever seen the movie: THE WIZARD OF OZ??? Well, soon you will be saying what the wicked witch said when Dorothy threw a bucket of water on her: "I'M MELTING!! I'M MELTING!!!" Those lbs will just melt off of you soon. You will soon be walking down the YELLOW BRICK ROAD to see the WIZARD OF OZ and your sweetest wish will be granted. Congratulations and good luck to you. My husband and I both had our open rny's at Pacific Bariatric in San Diego in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 325 lbs. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cgratulations on getting a date!! When you are about 2 wks out from your date, you'll need to get in a supply of foods for yourself for when you come home from the hospital.I can share with you my list if you like...You'll also need to get together your things for the hospital......You don't say if you live alone or not...some people like to do a good cleanig in their home right before they go, cause it will be awhile before you feel like that.I don't want to be morbid, but there are risks involved and some prefer to do a few things just in case...like write letters to their loved ones,put down on paper their wishes for a funeral, and perhaps a will.These are personal decisions.Leslie [email protected]

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. Can you get to a wls support meeting in your area? You can get so much info at them. Does your Dr have one? Or local hospital? I learned alot from going to them. Good luck. Leslie E.
