Dear Mischelle, I know JUST how you feel. My surgery was 12/2/02, and my sister stayed with me until they took me in to surgery: Her 'job' was to keep me from backing out! It is a huge decision, and making a list of what you can't do now, that you will be able to do in a 'normal size' body helps a lot. I feel better each day, have lost 25-30 lbs, my arthritic knee no longer hurts, my BP is normal. Everyone who posts to me says we will be glad we did it, and I'll bet you will too! I went to Dr. Sifers at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Diane

Hi and congrats on the date, I can totally relate to the feelings you are having, I am scheduled on the 10th of Feb. and I am thinking those same things. I am super nervous too, not soo much for the after part but will I be okay with surgery. I have 4 kids. But there are risks every day I guess. Good luck to you< Mary

Mischelle, Your right...your body will not feel the same after surgery. YOU will love how well your body feels after a few weeks. I too suffer from PCOS. Basically, I am symptom free and have been for months. If that was the only benefit from my surgery then I would call it successful just for that reason. But, that is only one of the many improvements that I have found with my pouch. In the beginning getting used to your new friend will take some adjustment but it is nothing that you can not do. Thousands of others had the same concern only to later post about the glorious revelation of weight loss surgery. Just think, this time next month you will have some negative numbers beside your name...WOOO HOOOO. Get some candles, mood music, heck a good glass of wine if you are a drinker (last call for pepsi if you are not a drinker) and take a well deserved relaxation break. Sit there and think...OMG in a short amount of time I will fit so much better in this tub!! Look at all of the hundreds of positives that the tool will offer you. Keeping in mind that you will succeed!! Best of wishes to you. KimmieTN
