Hi Gary:) I am also 51. There is lots of WLS done on those of us *baby-boomers* over 50! Our excess weight will shorten our life if we don't get a handle on it. I know how frightened you are. I will hold you in prayer - as well as ask my minister to put you in prayer circle. Angels will surround you during your procedure, the LOVE, PRESENCE, POWER & LIGHT of God will enfold you as you continue your journey to good health. Blessings - Cath

Hi buddy, I am always so glad to send greetings to a guy!!! Don't consider yourself too old for this, I was 58 when I had my surgery. I went thru it with no problems. I started out at 450 lbs and have lost 180 since Oct 2001. NOT BAD, HUH? You can do it too. Good luck and God bless you.

Gary, congratulations on your upcoming surgery. May peace and love surround you on your journey and carry you along safely. Remember to drink your water, take your vitamins, walk daily and most importantly, be gentle with yourself along the way. Lastly, don't forget to stop by occasionally and update your profile. Gary - I support you in this great decision. I'm almost 62 and my surgery is the same day as yours (only in Los Angeles). I hope you will post about your recovery - I'm wishing you "smooth sailing for your surgery and speedy recovery (((cyber-hugs))), we're never too old for hugs - you have a long life to look forward to! this time around it will be filled with a lot more quality!!!
