Well it's 1:57 a.m. on Monday May 14, 2001. I have been thirty years old for almost two hours, and I will be having my surgery in 10 hours. I changed my status now to Post-Op, which is actually a temporary fib, but I will not be able to change it. My lifelong friend Lora Parlapiano will be acting as my angel, updating my information to my many cyber-supporters. (Lora is such a good friend, she camped out with me Saturday 5/12/2001 at Ticketmaster so we could get seats to the big Madonna show on July 21st at the First Union Center in Philadelphia.. we got twelth row on the floor) Thanks you for all the people who make this website possible. Without your help, I could have not come this far. I really feel I am making an informed decision based partly on what I have learned about WLS on this site. The decision to have WLS is almost the most courageous decision that a person can make. I think that despite any risks, it the surgery presents itself as an opportunity to change this terrible medical condition. No matter how my operation turns out, I would still encourage others to be brave enough to continue to take the risk. See you on the other side!
