My hospital is in Newark, and everytime I go there I see the same signs they use in the opening credits of the Sopranos. As I get closer to the hospital, I start singing to myself, "Woke up this morning, grabbed myself a gun!" It's so hilarious that it keeps my mind off the anxiety of the surgery.

Hey WLS Buddy! Same surgery date! I see you are having your surgery in Newark,NJ..I am originally from that area. Here's hoping that you have a quick and uneventful surgery and a super fast recovery. Seaside is the place to be for the summer....wouldn't mind recovering down there! Hoping for the best for all the May 14th buddies, you are all in my prayers...See you all on the other side! Donna

Hi Peter ~ ~ Congratulations on getting a date for surgery. You will soon realize that you made the best decision to have this surgery. There are some people who are ignorant to this procedure. I was tired of hearing eat less, or go to weight watchers (been there, done that) I told them this was what I was going to do so if you love me I need all the support you can give me.I was nervous enough & didn't need to hear any bull from anybody. Just remember you are in the best of hands with Dr.K. My thoughts & prayers will be with you for a successful surgery & a speedy recovery. Well..I got my insurance approval and date for May 14, 2001. This date falls on the same day as my thirtieth birthday. I saw a good sign in this, and I kept the date. Very few of my friends and family are for me having the operation. One of the first questions they usually ask is where I am having the procedure done. When I say the University of Medicine and Denistry of New Jersey, they want to know if that is a good hospital. (???) I have lately been telling people that I going to Honest John's Stomach Stapling and Hock Shop to have the procedure. Either answer I say, the critical people always look at me like I am going to undergoing experiments on the Island of Dr. Moreau when I tell them that I will having Weight Loss Surgery. Many people have said the most ignorant and heartless comments to me. I have heard everything from, "why don't you just not eat so much." to "just get yourself a good pair of walking shoes." None of these people has ever had a weight problem at all, least of all been 150 pounds overweight.

Hi Peter ...Well soon you will be on the other side you must feel great!! I to am having surgery with Dr. Brolin...My 1st consult is May 1st! 5 days away...Let keep in touch ok...And if you need anything please let me know I live not far from you Lanoka Harbor.
