Michele, A possibility for your TT through Tricare is the way I did my surgery through them. Look into having it done as a Point of Service option. They cover less, but maybe you could get it approved that way. Good luck. I have heard they are really difficult to get approval for plastics done. I am also a prime member. I had my WLS approved but not my surgeon so I had to have it done as a POS. Definately cost more (they pay 50% of the allowable) but it was worth it to me. Good luck! Tami

Michele, I am sooo glad that Tricare is paying for your TT. I too have Tricare (scheduled for Lap RNY on 8/30/02). It is nice to know that they MAY pay for it. Congrats & good luck on your consult for the TT. God Bless!

I am also trying to get approval for a tummy tuck by Tricare so any info that you get would you email it to me? [email protected] I am not able to go through the naval hospital to have it done because Portsmouth isn't doing anything elective right now because they are so short staffed. Any help will be appriciated and if I recieve any new info I will email it to you Jenna

michele, you say you are tricare and having trouble getting your tummy tuck, what you need is to be using the military doctors that way tricare is not a hassle, i just had my wls surgery at fort gordon in augusta and my doctors said to come on back in a year and they would do the loose skin thing, i said not with out a signed paper saying i wouldnt have an ng tube, lol. i just thought i would tell you that i had the best care with the hospital and doctors at fort gordon, all instalatins don't have the same hospital services but if you work with-in the military system you will find less resistance. good luck to you. hugs susan
