I had my evaluation but, still waiting for the Hospital to be approves as "In network" for bc/bs. Npt sure if I will stay with this group. Everyone was very nice at my eval but, when I called for a question I had to call twice and wait a day for a return call.

If I had to do this again I would go right back ..... they know what problems might arise and they are equipped to handle them ...... the nurses are friendly and completely professional as is the whole staff from the receptionist to the surgeon

I went in June of 2002, and I am still waiting for my insurance company to accept the hospital in to their network (blue cross of philadelphia). I feel like I am being stung along. The only time I get an update on the status of the ins comp. is when I call, I called three days ago and I am still waiting for a return call. Needles to say I am not looking for another surgeon. I am really hurt and disapointed by their lack of concern for me.

When I got to my room, there were flowers from the BTC staff. All their chairs and doorways are HUGE, so you feel like you're in an environment that fits you. The gowns and tables were also huge. I knew this place was made for me! Every time I got out of bed, they changed the sheets!

Decided against after being told I was out of network and they would arranged a loan for surgery. I would be reimbursed by my insurance company. Told the total was about $50,000. Since my insurance would cover 80% I figured I'd go where it wasn't a money making proposition

This is a brand new hospital and is set up specifically for patients who need weight loss surgery. The chairs are a chair and a half large, the scale weighs up to 1000 pounds (I think), and the gowns are HUGE!!
All of the staff treats you very well; there is no look of disgust and no "prejudice" in the order you are waited on or the way you are taken care of. The doctors are very professional and they staff every person you need so that when you have your pre-admission testing, you go to this hospital only and you see an intern, a nutritionist, an x-ray tech, and you fill out a survey with a trained Medical Assistant for your psychiatric review. There are also many people who have been hired there who have undergone weight loss surgery and they will come in and give you some insight on their experience before and after. They also provide a place to hold ongoing support meetings for post-op only and post and pre-op patients.

The Bariatric Treatment Center is a specialty that cares for WLS patients only. They have everything down to a science as far as the actual surgery to the care afterwards. Everything is geared towards getting you stronger everyday. They know just what to do. The nurses were wonderful, and right there almost as soon as you hit the call button. If you are considering WLS or are having WLS I would definately come to this fabulous, efficient, caring facility!
