I went to visit Dr Barker on the referral from a friend. The initial visit wait was long but, there were lots of people there. I went in to get info on Lap Band knowing that my insurance would not pay for it and spoke with Bobby about the pros and cons. After hearing about Lap Band and knowing that I would be on a fully restricted diet and hearing about the Sleeve, I was very glad to know there was another option. I had the sleeve on 5/21. I ended up with a hiatal hernia that was repaired but, I did not know I had the hernia. I stayed in hospital of 2.5 days but, the issues I had were with the hernia, not the sleeve. Dr Barker and his staff were very helpful - especially Simone (finances) - I also met another person on his staff that had the sleeve and she looked fabulous. This got me even more excited. I did have some complications (dehydration) and I had to go back to the hospital for upper GI, IV & EGD - but, even with that, Dr. Thompson & Dr Barker were right there with me. I would rate him and OUTSTANDING and I am glad that I made this change for ME!

Dr. Barker is a very down to earth person. He didnt make me feel bad about my condition, he honestly wanted to help me and went above and beyond to make sure my surgery got approved. The staff there is wonderful, Dale you're the best... I was very scared about going from a lap band to a bypas but Dr. Barker and his team went over everything with me including possible complication, now that I am knowledgeable I feel more comfortable going into my surgery. I recommend Dr. Barker's practice to everyone including my mom who is having surgery shortly after.

Everything was very rushed (after the 3 hour wait, of course) but it was SOOOO worth it. Dr. Barker is very friendly and professional and his entire staff go above and beyond to help. I recommend him to everyone I hear who is curious abou bariatric surgery.

My first impression of Dr, Barker was he seem to be straight to the point! Get in and Out! That he was very confident in his abilites. rnHis staff is very very friendly and informative! rnIf you choose his as your surgeon just make sure you have several hours of free time because his office is always packed with long wait time on consultaions. I have 2 other friend that had RNY's done by hime with no issues. I'm hoping mine go as well. 6/16/2008

Dr. Barker is simply fantastic. He is so knowledgeable and confident I would recommend him to anyone ready to change their life. Dr. Barker never rushed me or made me feel as though I was wasting his time. He is young and so full of energy he performed my surgery on Labor Day 2007. Imagine a doctor who works on Labor Day. Dr. Barker explained everything to me...throughly and made sure I understood. I have had no complications since surgery and feel fantastic. Dr. Barker is just as concerrned about my overall health now just as he was before I had surgery. Unfortunately the word is spreading and I know from sitting in his office that there is a growing number of folks interested in his services so I would suggest if you are even thinking about the possibility of WLS, I would suggest you make that call today. The only thing you have to lose is.......Weight!

I fell in love with him the first time I met him he was so easy to talk to.after my surgery I felt evan better about him because I suffered some complications and he was so kind and helpful, he called me right back and explained everything to me and told me exactly what to do. very professional, office staff. there was nothing that I did not like about him. He is a very busy man with a very large practice. extremely and he makes his first two office vists after surgery at no cost, he also make everything so easy for you to do all you have to do is show up most everything that the insurance companies want you can do in his office building. yes he has a very nice after care program. he was very up front and explained everything to me. super excellent Dr. with a super excellent Dr. Pt. relationship. both are great.I would just like to say that the only thing that I did not like was that I never saw him in the hospital, and that the infection that I contracted may have been avoid or should I say the experience may not have been as bad had he came and took a look at the surgical wounds

If you are looking for personal attention, this is not the surgeon for you. Although I think Dr. Barker is a brilliant surgeon and a caring individual, it is ridiculous how overbooked his office is. There were times when I waited 3 hours to see him. I never waited less than an hour and a half. The waiting room always had at least 30 people or more in it. Most times there was no where to sit and overflow was in the hallway. They don't know the meaning of \"OVERBOOKING\" patients. It is just completely ridiculous. And the thing is, I haven't even actually seen Dr. Barker since my last PRE-op appointment before surgery. Since surgery, I've been pawned off on everyone else in the office. His nurse, his PA, his doctor side kick - who is nice, but is not a surgeon and hasn't been in the bariatric profession for very long. Dr. Barker would just run into me in the hallway and wave, \"Hey you look great\". That's it. In the past year, that's it. So, if you don't mind no personal attention and waiting 2-3 hours or more for your appointments, then this is the surgeon for you. Personally, I am fed up.

I absolutely love Dr. Barker. He did amazing with my surgery and honestly, my incisions will probably not even be visible in a few months which i am thrilled about!! :) His staff is constantly busy and i guess the ONLY negative thing i would say about the office is the wait to get back to see anyone. the first time i waited 2 1/2 hours before i even got in and that is 2 1/2 hours PAST my appointment time. BUT in saying that, i would do it over again in a heart beat! he did an amazing job and it a wonderful doctor!!
