Dr Barker was a great surgeon. He really cares for his patients. He walked me through the whole process and the after care with him was great. His office staff is wonderful and was there everytime I had a concern. I would recommend him to everyone looking for weight loss surgery.

Nice guy. Only met once and for like 20 minutes. But he was very knowledgable and upfront. He struck me as a surgeon and not really a people person. I felt comfortable with that as I don't need a nice person, per say, working on my insides. :) The office is busy. Doubtful I will see Dr. Barker much. But the surgery went well and that's what I wanted. Office staff is always helpful and friendly, even if there is a bit of a wait. Would definately recommend to friends and love ones as I know Dr. Barker has his game on and his support staff has it too.

Honestly I've known Dr. Barker for a long time and wouldn't hesitate about picking him as my surgeon. I am best friends with his office manager so I know the staff pretty well, they are a great bunch of people. Very friendly, funny, and encouraging in every way. I couldn't imagine my experience to be any better. I would certainly rate Dr. Barker and his staff a HUGE \"10\"!! He knows his stuff and his beside manner couldn't be better. I felt he was genuinely concerned for me and wanted to see and help me succeed! I've lost over 60 lbs and couldn't be happier!! Thank you Dr. Barker!!!

Where do I begin??? I must say, when I first called the office, I was put on hold by some lady named Simmon or something like that for 9 minutes! I hung up and called back and spoke to a much different young lady who was polite and professional. (forgot her name) I was set up on a Thursday to come in and see Dr. Barker...WOW...when I came in, the room was CROWDED! Fat people were EVERYWHERE! It was like a horrid HOT nightmare. The mocie was stopped and when I complained about it, the receptionist at the front gave ME the remote to start it myself. WTF?! I sat on what seemed like a leather footrest and stared at the frazzled receptionists in front of me for 3 hours till I was finally called back like some CATTLE call and was put in a room Only to wait what seemed like another hour for \"DOCTOR BARKER\" to come and \"consult\" with me. (he looks soooo much older in person) I felt compelled to open my FAT mouth to complain but decided not to. Good thing, too since moments later I overheard Barker snaring at some patient for complaining. When he did finally arrive to my room, he asked me what procedure I was interested in having EVEN THOUGH he had my file right in front of his face! It was annoying, really. He left after was seemed like 2 minutes and pushed me along to the next room to meet with some other guy rn(who by the way yelled at one of the employees in front of me just for entering the room looking for a file - which didn't disturb our meeting at all - and that poor girl just walked out apologizing again and again.) After our meeting I went to check out only to stand there waiting for this Simmon lady to finish chatting with some other lady. I couldn't wait any longer and left the office, leaving behind my hopes and dreams of being healthy. Never again will I put myself through something like this. I only hope to find a surgeon who will see me as a real person and not some dollar sign rounded up in his cattle-like ranch of a waiting room. That is all.

First impression was very positive with him, his staff and his operation. My impression hasn't changed over time. He is a busy doctor, does what he does best and lets the support to his staff which is excellent.I haven't seen anything I have not liked about him or his staff. After care biggest help was from Ms. McCoy of Nova Solutions. Her handbook is outstanding and covers all you need to know since she has been thru bariatric surgery herself. Everything was addressed appropriately. I think surgical competence is more important to me than holding my hand. Appoinment waiting time at the office could be improved.

The first surgeon's office I went to told me that they contacted my insurance and I was approved to go ahead with the other visits. After putting me through 5 visits, a lot of money, the insurance calls me and says no one called them. I have to start over and can not have the Lap Band. The insurance will pay for the Gastric and I have chosen Dr. Wade Barker of Dallas to be my new surgeon. I am still on the Healthy Weight coaching program and will not be able to meet the doctor until April. I am in hopes of having the surgery in early July! Will update later! rnrnUpdate!! I finally got to meet my new surgeon! Dr. Wade Barker! I love him! He is wonderful and was very informative as we talked and asked questions about the RNY surgery. My husband asked him a lot of questions too, so that put him more at ease with the upcoming surgery as well. rnDr. Wade Barker's staff is awesome! Each person was friendly and kind that I came in contact with. They all did their part in making me feel right at home and showed me that it is all going to be taken care of. No more mix ups last with the last surgeon! I will be having the surgery done at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and that's just what I wanted! Dr. James Davidson will be Dr. Barker's assistant and that's great too because Dr. Davidson was my surgeon 17 years ago for another surgery. I have two great surgeons performing my surgery now! rnrnHere we go!!! Surgery date, July 14th!

He was very nice. He answered all of my questions but the best person in the office is Dave because he deals with the insurance company. The office is cozy and has a friendly environment.

Dr. Barker is awesome...and HOT! LOL. He's really cool. He's very knowledgeable about the procedure. I'm SO glad I chose him as my doctor. I trust him to perform my RNY surgery.

I do have to agree with all the other ladies. Dr.Barker is a very handsome man, personally I was more interested in his knowledge than I was his good looks(but it really didn't hurt that he was a HOTTIE). Dr.Barker's office was very modern and relaxing with oversized soft leather chairs and flat screen on the wall. I had my second appointment with Dr.Barker and he answered all of my questions(even the ones about losing patients)that I had got from this site. He was very straightfoward and even cracked a joke. The most important thing was for my husband to fill comfortable with him and he was. So far Dr.Barker is pushing a strong 6 out 10. Surgery is over and I will now give Dr. Barker a 9. The only reason he was not given a 10 is because I never saw him after my surgery. I give a 9 because I has little to NO PAIN( i just that is due to him being a great surgeon), he did however meet up with my DH afterwards to tell him everything went GREAT. OKAY OKAY i will give him a 9 and 1/2 because I called him twice after hours about my pain pump not sliding out he advised me and then cracked a few jokes.
