Rodolfo Arreola Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My fisrt impression of Dr. Arreola was he is very nice, and over time I feel the same. He has the most helpful office staff I have encountered in a medical office in a very long time, they go out of their way to help and/or answer any questions you may have and they actually call you back on the day you call them. There is nothing I don't like about my dr. Dr. Arreola is very nice and thorough, he is a very qualified Dr. he really knows what he is doing, and not just guessing about what step comes next. His after care is also excellent. I felt I was really to go back to work after only 2 wks, but he wouldn't release me. He wanted to make sure that I was in good health and everything is working properly.I am not sure about a structured aftercare program, but the next business day after you are released from the hospital you are scheduled to have half your staples remove and the other half come out 3 days after that. You are then scheduled for a office visit 2 weeks after that and so on. He thoroughly explains all for the risks involved with the surgery. As far as I am concerned Dr. Arreola comes highly recommended to anyone in the area considering bariatric surgery. His surgical competence and his bed side manner are both excellent.

Dr. Arreola is a wonderful doctor. He is so caring and concern about your well being. Being sure you get the attention you need and the care you need. He came to my room everyday and somedays came twice to check on me. He explains everything with details so you don't have any concerns. He is an angel! God bless him! That's all I can say about him

I loved Dr arroela He was very concerned and gave alot of detail.
It hasnt changed at all.
His office staff is wonderful just like him.
Theres nothing that i dont like about him.
That he is a dr who cares about his patients and takes time with them.
He emphasizes aftercare alot he thinks its the most important part.
He has avery structered aftercare program.
He gave us all the pros and the cons before the surgery and even after.
I would rate himm 100%.

Dr. Arreola is the greatest physician ever. (I even work for physicians)! He is very thourough and knows what he is doing. He explained everything to myself and my husband as far as risks and what to expect before and after surgery. He covered everything from A-Z. I was very impressed with him. He is very caring and has the best office staff! Post surgery, he is still the same, very caring and if you should have any problems or questions he or his staff are always there for you! I am very impressed with Dr. Arreola. I wish there are more physicians/surgeons like him.

Ummm, what can I say about Dr. Arreola besides that he is great. He provides all the answers to your questions and makes sure you know exactly what will be going on. His bedside manner is superb. He is funny as well. He made me comfortable with all the pain that I was having from my incision and back, I appreciated that. I had no complications from my surgery and no complaints about Dr. Arreola.

dr arreola was wonderful. he fully prepared me for the surgery and what to expect after. i cant say enough good things about him. he always takes his time with me and answers my questions fully. his staff is equally as professional. if they cannot answer a question for me they will find out. hhhhis bedside manner was very good also. i followed his orders to the tee and i did very well after surgery.

Had inital consult with Dr. Arreolla. He is very laid back, has a unique sense of humor and seems to be very competent.
His office staff is very courteous and made me feel very comfortable. His office was equipped wit oversized chairs.

He was helpful and honest with me and I liked him.

It didn't I still like him. He's always there for me.

Doesn't apply, as I like him and I liked the way, He came right to the phone if paged and stayed in the hospital after my surgery, in case he was needed.

He's studying lap band, but for now just does a 6 inch cut. It's a very thin line.

Of Course Surgical compitence is most important, but it helps when they also have a good bedside manner to put you at ease.

These are my personal opinions and feelings based on my own experience with Dr. Arreola.

In my opinion, Dr. Arreola is fantastic. He's 100 percent caring and completely considerate of your feelings, concerns and emotions, in addition to being an excellent surgeon.

His office holds support meetings at Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa. the third Wednesday of every month at around 6pm. The doctor usually attends the meetings and is available afterwards for questions and comments. I first met Dr. Arreola while attending a meeting with my husband, and the doctor answered all of our questions, drew diagrams on an eraser board, and thoroughly explained the procedure to everyone in the room. (There was approximately 100 people in attendance, some pre-op and some post-op, along with their spouses and families and other support persons.)

On my first appointment with Dr. Arreola, he held a class in a large room with myself and 4 other patients. Again he thoroughly explained the procedure, drew diagrams, and answered all of our questions. Afterwards he saw us individually to go over any private concerns or special circumstances.

Dr. Arreola also has a great sense of humor and quiet manner about him, along with a humbleness I have grown to admire.

I had to do all the usual testing for insurance purposes, such as a sleep study, stress test, blood work, chest x-ray, psych evaluation, consult with the dietician, and such; HOWEVER:

The only pre-op requirements I had to do was to drink only liquids 24 hours before surgery and do a Fleet bowel prep. No liquids or food 12 hours before the surgery date. He did not require that I quit smoking in order to do the surgery, though since I HAVE quit. He also did not care if I put on a few pounds before, due to last meal syndrome. He also did not require a liquid diet for two weeks prior to the surgery, as I have heard so many have had to do.

The surgery and hospital care afterwards was superb. Hamot had a wonderful staff of nurses and assistants who looked after my every need. They made sure I was comfortable and got my pain medicines on time. Dr. Arreola checked on me every day, and I even remember his office manager outside my room checking on me with the nurses. (I was pretty groggy then)

Now, I am 3 weeks post-op and can say I've had no troubles, or complications. The surgery went very well, and I am healing nicely.

I have seen the doctor three times so far as part of my follow-up care, and will again in another three weeks. My scar is 5 and 1/4 inches long and perfectly straight and healed. I am able to eat and drink without being nauseated, yet get full quickly. I am completely satisfied with Dr. Arreola and am happy and fortunate to have had him as my surgeon.

Again, these are my personal opinions and feelings based on my own experience with Dr. Arreola and Hamot Medical Center. I am making no statements about what other people may experience with either the surgeon or hospital.

Dr. Arreola is a wonderful angel! I have worked with lots of drs. in the past, and have never met a more patient, understanding, and efficient surgeon. My surgery is scheduled for June 10 and I am not afraid of anything. He was totally at ease with every question and concern I had. I would recommend him to everyone!
