My first impression of him was in the information class and the support group. I have not met him personally but will at my pre-op appointment on Feb 9th. He seems to be a very caring Doctor and well able to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. His staff has been very nice. In the next month or so, I will be able to evaluate even better.

Feb 9th 2005 - I finally got to meet Dr. Kim today. He is on the quiet side but very through and suprisingly has a good sense of humor. He was very willing to address any questions that I had. The staff was very warm, friendly, and caring. As a whole the staff was very informative on what I should do pre-op and post-op. Dr. Kim also has a pre-op diet plan for his patients with a high BMI to better your chances for having Laparoscopic instead of Open surgery and it also gets you in the swing of how you should be eating. I've heard that he has good results with the pre-op diet plan and I have already lost some weight. I would rate Dr. Kim a 9. I will give an update on surgical competence and bedside manner after surgery.

From the moment that I went to the first information seminar & heard Dr. Kim, I knew that he was the right surgeon for me. He is a very knowledgeable, experienced, & talented Dr. that genuinely cares about his patients & their overall health & wellbeing. His office staff is also very caring & they go out of their way to help in every way possible. I met with Dr. Kim on 2/9/05 for my pre-op visit. After that appointment, my opinion of him only increased. He stresses that this surgery is only a tool & that aftercare is of the utmost importance. I thank God for leading me to Dr. Kim & the staff at US Bariatrics Orlando.

I felt good about Dr. Kim from the time I met him at an information session. He was easy to talk to, patient, and seemed to know what he was talking about.
His office staff at Celebration Health are kind, helpful, caring, and genuinely concerned with each patient.
I highly recommend Dr. Kim. I am so very glad that I stumbled onto the U.S. Bariatric website and found him.
Aftercare is every bit as important to Dr. Kim and his staff as is the actual WLS.
They have a very comprehensive aftercare program dealing with postop patients' real concerns and needs, such as exercise, nutrition, and education.
I was aware of the risks of WLS, but I felt the risk was worth it. I knew I would be in capable hands.
I give Dr. Keith Kim an AAAAA+.
He is well-rounded, with superb surgical competence and bedside manner. He gives patients a feeling of confidence which is followed up with competent, complete care.
Thanks, Dr. Kim!!!!!
Do I have anything negative to say? I've thought about it, and try as I might, I cannot think of anything negative.

Dr kim was very informative about the procedurealong with it's risk. His office staff is very courteous and knowledgeable since most have underwent the surgery and they emphasize the importance of the aftercare program and how important it is to attend the classes and support meetings.I would rate Dr Kim a 10.

DR KIM SEEMS TO BE VERY INTERESTED IN YOUR OVERALL HEALTH NOT JUST YOUR WL. hIS OFFICE STAFF ARE VERY NICE AND SOME( MOST) OF THEM HAVE HAD WLS. HE EMPHASIZES THE AFTERCARE with a very structered program you are followed for the rest of your life. He addresses the risks of surgery over and over again he wants you to be well informed.

When I first met Dr. Kim, I didnt know how I was going to like him. But as time has passed, I am extremely happy that he was my surgeron. He does a great job and becomes more personable as time passes. He has moved from his old location to Celebration Health in Florida. His staff there is wonderful. If you have a problem they are there to help you right away.

Future patients need to know that at first he my seem distant but over time, he becomes a great person to talk to and help you.

His aftercare is wonderful. He wants you to go to support group meetings and if you have a problem, he wants to know right away.

He was very serious about the complication and problems that can happen over time. He wants his patients to make informed dicisions.

Overall, I would and have recommended him to several others. I think that he wonderful and really knows his job. He is a great surgeon and wonderful person.

If I had to choose between surgical or bedside, I would have to say that his surgical competence is outstanding. His bedside manner was very weak but like I have said, it has improved over time. He has become very aware of me and my problems. I know that this is hard when you first meet someone. If you have any questions, please let me know.

First impression: Dr. Kim is YOUNG!!! Seems a bit quiet and reserved. As I got to know him better, it became apparent that he is very compassionate and concerned for his patients. Most of his staff have had WLS of one type or another and seem very friendly and helpful. The only thing that bugs me is that although he performs the DS, he seems hesitant to admit it. Also, he has moved my surgery date 4 times to ensure that there would be plenty of staff on hand after my surgery. It makes me feel like he is EXPECTING complications. His aftercare program and support groups are excellent. He is very clear on the severity of the surgeries. So far, I give him a A. Hopefully once I have the surgery, it will be a A+.

On February 18, 2003 I went to see the staff at Dr. Keith Kim's office. We had a joint session with bout 5 other people. Darla went over a variety of surgeries and then after Darla had her say bout those we all went one by one to talk to Dr. Kim... He was a nice, respecable person. I am still a little scared but if I do the surgery (with God's help I will) and my husband's too of course..TUNE IN NEXT TIME FOR THE APPROVAL STATUS....THAT IS WHAT I AM WAITING ON....

Dr. Kim is a most reputable surgeon. His staff has been supportive. I just chose the wrong psychologists. I cannot fault the surgical team for rejecting me.

Dr. Kim's program is most thorough in dealing with pre-op issues. I wish I could attest to the post-op procedures. I was willing to travel 350 miles to use this team.

The only negative I can think of would be the fact that I believed surgery would happen on Nov. 12. On Nov. 11, I found out that the psychologist had declined me. That was most disappointing. Of course, I must take some responsibility for this, because I knew the psychologist must approve me, but was sure he would! Ha.

They now have a new office manager, Brian Woodward, who was most knowledgable...author of the book, A Complete Guide to Obesity Surgery.
He came aboard after my initial devastation, and has been very supportive of me. He is a great asset for the program.
