I meet him this past Friday and he is very compassionate about weight loss and very caring.

While still really aloof...finally did the surgery to repair the 'flipped' port - again, great surgery- back to work the next day no pain or after effects whatsoever - but not sure what exactly he did as when he opened me up apparently the port was still firmly attached to whatever...just my anatomy that caused the flip so we'll see when I get around to going back - my last visit was 8/31/07 - after finding out that I was trying to get counseling to help me lose faster (once a month in a group session 1 hour away from my house at night-just doesn't cut it) he decided to give me another fill. Still no freebie. It's always going to cost me 150.00 to get a fill - really not happy with that...kinda knocks the 'free visits for 1 year' perk out the window!

Dr Kim was very open with me and his staff has always gone out of there way to assist me. rnWhen Dr Kim learned I had breast cancer he wanted to make sure that I keep him informed of my situation and ensured that I come back to him for 6 month's instead of just a yearly appointment. That meant alot to me!

I met Dr. Kim last night at the information session he conducts on Wednesday evenings. I was impressed with his empathy and compassion, as well as his knowledge and understanding of obesity as a disease. I will update as time goes on and I have a firmer opinion built through getting to know him better.

My first impression of Dr.Kim was love at first sight. Love the way he talks and explains everything. Over time I still hold my thoughts of my first impression. Dr. Kim was very friendly and non- judgemental from the get go. He continues to be the same and honest. I had my surgery at Florida Hospital in Celebration, Florida. His staff and all personel have been friendly and very helpful. I think the negative part of my surgery so far has been that \"hair loss\" was not emphisized as much as I would have liked. Natrually, just by that comment I have lost a lot (and I do mean a lot) of hair due to the surgery. I wish that would have been more emphisized and more info on this would hav prepared me more for I was in for. Other than that...I have no complaints. Dr. Kim and his staff come Highly recommended by me.....

At first, I wanted Dr. Kim's associate to do my surgery. I didn't really have confidence in this \"skinny, athletic\" doctor. But the staff was wonderful and the classes before my surgery reassured me that he was a great physician and even more, a great person. I was told he liked to err on the side of caution - which I learned first hand. After I met with him personally, I knew I had made the right choice. Dr. Kim is a compassionate and skilled bariatric surgeon. I am so thankful that he did my surgery. He continues to care and encourage me. He trusts me to do what is right, but is there for me if I don't. I love US Bariatrics. All the staff there are wonderful - and many of them have had bariatric surgery themselves. They understand about my struggles and rejoice with me on my successes.

- first impressions are very strong especially since out of the three seminars I attended he was the only surgeon I actually met and even presented the seminar himself! Also my preop appt was scheduled during a fund raising media event and couldn't be rescheduled due to my tight schedule so he left a meeting just to come meet/ evaluate me. - what a nice guy!rnrn- office staff was wonderful after I got over the hurdle of being approved - seems they were more reachable after knowing I was serious and able to pay!rnrn- furture patients should know that this office does the proximal rny with bandingrnrn- he believes that after care is what makes most patients sucessfull or not depending on their willingness to be involved in the programrnand aftercare guidelines are expected to be followed.rnrnrnrn-

My first impression of Dr. Kim was that he appeared to be friendly, yet thoughtful. When you have a question, he never just prescribes something or tells you not to worry about it. He goes into depth as to why your body is responding a certain way. And I really like that about him. Dr. Kim called me at home when I was a recent post-op. He is an incredibly talented and caring surgeon who walks the talk everyday. rnrnAftercare is a priority with Dr. Kim. If you are not meeting expectations in terms of water, protein, supplements or exercise, you'll hear about it (and rightly so!) US Bariatric Orlando is a Bariatric Center of Excellence. If you are not familiar with that award, it means that they are held to very strict standards of caring and excellence in all phases of the program.rnrnDr. Kim is an amazing man and an incredible surgeon. I'd choose him again in a heartbeat.rn
