I liked him. I felt he was very quialified to do this. His office staff are great and very friendly and helpfull. I haven't found anything that I don't like about Dr. Hitchcock. The program is very structured, before and after surgrey. At least it seems. I'll know more next week.

My first impression of Dr. Hitchcock was what a great sense of humor.

My impression of him hasn't changed a bit!! He is direct, yet compassionate, humorus, and very professional.

If there is a better office staff at any program in the US, I'd be VERY surprised!!

I haven't disliked anything!

Future patients should be prepared to do there part. Follow the instructions that are given to you.

This group of doctors offer the ENTIRE package. They don't stress one part more than the others. They believe the before, during and aftercare are all equally important.

There appears to be a very structured aftercare program, from follow-up visits to a extremely positive support group. Dr. Hitchcocks program gets there patients involved starting with a post-op panel of patients attending an informative seminar to assist with this very important surgical decision.

KC Bariatric was direct and to the point on the dangers of this surgical procedure. They gave me the information I needed to make an educated decision.

Rating - OVER-THE-TOP!!!!! UN-TOUCH-ABLE!!!

29 plus years in the Bariatric field and a down to earth, caring personality.. I'm BLESSED in finding him!!!

My first impression of my Dr.Hitchcock was very comforting. I first meet him at the seminar they have. I was most pleased and had all the information I need when leaving his seminar. He touched my heart. I knew I not only had the right Doctor but in that one meeting I felt like I have known him forever. Thats how he made me feel. Not just like a patient but a caring person and that really loves his job as well as the love for his patients. The office staff I love as well. Nola, Billy and the rest of the team give out much love and support. Nola has made me feel wonderful and at ease with this surgery. I know with all of these lovable people I will have the support I need to go through with this.I have nothing bad to say at all and NO they did not pay me off to say this...hehehe...If I had to rate my Doctor and his staff I would say 1 out of ten....A BIG FAT 10!!!!! They all have my heart as well as my soul. Thank God I found them...I will let you all know how I am doing after surgery and I look forward to your support as well.

My first impression of Dr. Hitchcock was very positive. I took comfort in the fact that he's been involved in, you might say, the evolutionary process of bariatric surgery. Dr. Hitchcock was not the first surgeon's presentation which I attended. I did attend another local surgeon's presentation at Truman, yet was not comfortable with the program. I am sooo fortunate that I found Dr. Hitchcock!

The information provided preoperatively was exceptional. I read, and re-read the materials, and had no hesitation in regards to the procedure. The aftercare was good, as well. Anytime I had questions, either with Linda or the dieticians, my calls were quickly returned.

I was one of the very few individuals who experienced minor complications. I did require a blood transfusion while in the hospital, which was rather freaky. I was only the second person to require one. Also, approximately a week or so after surgery, I did develop an abscess which ruptured at an incisional site. That was freaky as well! I took my temperature, though, which was normal and knew that it was nothing serious like peritonitis!! I did phone the office afterhours that evening and received a call right back from the on-call physician. Antibiotics cleared me right up!

I can think of nothing negative to say, here!!!! I've not had any negative experience with The Bariatric Center of Kansas City.

Just did the pre-op testing and have a surgery date of August 10th! I can't believe it is so soon! I am thrilled, though. I first heard about Hitchcock through a friend of a friend who had the surgery, then looked him up on the internet and went to his seminar in June of this year (2004). Hitchcock trained under Alan Wittgrove of the Alvarado program in San Diego, and has based his program on theirs. I will be getting the roux en y gastric bypass (proximal) done laparoscopically, if all goes as planned.

I first met Dr. Hitchcock at a seminar given for Gastric Bypass surgery. He struck me as very knowledgeable, confident and passionate about how this surgery can change lives.

I have only met him once. My first pre-surgical appointment is July 15th. I will elaborate more as I develop a relationship with him and his office staff.

I specifically sought out Dr. Hitchcock's program as if fully encompasses all aspects of weight loss: physical, emotional, and dietary. There are required appointments with the dietitians and psychologist before surgery can take place.

Again, as I become more involved with the program, I will elaborate more.

I fill that I made the best descisiion when I went to the semair,at KC Bariatric center, this was not the first one I had been to.I liked knowing that they were as much pre-op care as post-op care. They want you and your body in the best shape before surgery.Dr.Hitchcock is a very caring and knowleadgable doctor. He makes sure you understand everything there is to know about the surgery, and even gives you a test just to make sure.
Dr.Hitchcock and his staff are #1 in my book. You couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with.
His aftercare program is top notch. And you've got to be commited to keeping all of your appointments.
They are the best at what they do.

Dr. Hitchcock will not perform the surgery unless he truly feels you need it and are ready for it....I personally very much appreciate this philosphy - shows he truly cares and is not in it just for the money!

Dr. Hitchcock will not pull any punches with you - you will get total honesty!

The staff are fantastic! In the beginning you will deal with Nola to try and get insurance approval - she will really go to bat for you! Nola got so busy she hired Angelique (who was a patient as well!). What a great addition to the staff - someone who has been through the process and totally understands the whole spectrum of emotions you will go through! Then there is Dr. Hitchcock's nurse Linda - always there to listen if you have questions or concerns.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Hitchcock and his entire staff!

My first impression of Dr. Hitchcock was that he has sense of humor (seminar)...
something I truly appreciate in a physician. I was also very impressed with the preop program that KC Bariatric has. Not only are you checked out with Respiratory, Cardiopulmanary doctors, you must have counseling with phsycologist, nutritionalist and physical therapists. After surgery, all of them continue to monitor your progress for the next 12-18 months to ensure you have not problems as your body stabilizes. I definitely feel this is probably even MORE important that the preop care.

Before surgery, Dr. Hitchcock not only tested me on the risks/benefits of the surgery, but had me sign a statement acknowledging them. There was no doubt as to my being in a knowledgeable position to make an informed decision.

After my surgery, I had some complications and Dr. Hitchcock told the nurses to keep him posted every couple of hours through the night.

Dr. Hitchcock is a very caring and sensitive physician and I believe KC Bariatric Clinic has one of the BEST programs around. Have been told by Dr. Hoerne's patients that he's the same way...definitely would recommend ANYONE considering the surgery to their care.

He was very concerned of my feelings about the surgery and procedure, my impression of him just got better with every visit with him. all of his staff was very nice, I like everything about my doctor and his staff. He is the best doctor in KS area for this,Dr Hitchcock makes sure you keep all follow up appointments.Yes his nurses are always available for any questions they are wonderful. He explianed the dangers of the surgery. Over all if this is something I would have to do all over again I wouldnt have another doctor, it would have to be him or no one at all. He has the best bedside manner and he is very tender in his caring for you.
