Dr Hitchcock performed my lap band surgery this morning. In my consultations with him I found him to be a very caring physician. He wanted to make sure I was well informed and explained the procedure as well as the realistic expectations I should have. He loaded me with valuable information. This morning he came in before surgery and met my husband. He has wonderful bedside manners. He was very willing to sit with me as long as necessary to answer all my questions and was very helpful with suggestions. I highly recommend this physician. I felt completely at ease and confident in his ability as well as his high credentials.
Not to mention his beautiful eyes :)

3/7/03 - Dr. Hitchcock removed my gallbladder 10 years ago via laproscopic and he was wonderful then and he is wonderful now! I am so excited that he is doing the RNY procedure and that I qualify for the RNY! I have been very impressed with the "program" that his office puts you through. The pre-testing in my opinion is a MUST and it is reassuring that I am in good good hands. I delivered both my children at Shawnee Mission Medical Center and I love the hospital and feel fortunate that they are affiliated with this hospital. Dr. Hitchcock's seminar was the BEST and it was extremely informative..convinced my husband!!!! I can't say enough about Dr. Hitchcock and his team! Nola the director of the program is an absolutely wonderful person, as well as Linda his nurse! The entire staff continuously show their concern and understanding for each patient! I can't wait to have my surgery!!!

I am very happy with my choice of surgeon! He seems intrested not only in my weight loss but in me as a person. He went to medical school with my PCP, and my PCP recommended him to me. I adore my PCP! rnHis staff are fine. I really have no strong feelings one way or the other with them. The girl at the front desk dosent't acknowledge me when I enter the office. That is really my only complaint about the office. rnI think the follow up care is very good. I only wish that I could get fills more often to lose the weight faster :-) but I understand why they are scheduled like they are.

I have only had one appointment with rnDr. Hitchcock as of yet, but my impression was that he is an absolute advacate for the obese. He understands the struggles and stigmas attached to the disease. For the first time I do not feel judged. He made me feel that we are in this together and together we will win!rnHis entire staff is wonderful.

Dr Hitchcock is great. Their program is wonderful and provides education of the overall process. I was fully informed of what to expect prior to surgery, what I needed to do prior to surgery to get to my goal weight, and what to expect after the surgery. I have plenty of support group from his team.

First impressions at the seminar were great. He was personable and very likeable. That hasn't really changed but to be honest, even though i had the surgery and at least one after appt I really have not seen him much. It kind of bothers me that he didnt come and personally check on me and consult with me after I had come out of sedation and was in the hospital room. Not that i felt i wasnt taken care of by the excellent staff. Speaking of staff his office staff is top notch and personable and friendly and willing and ready to answer all questions. LOVE 'em!

My first impression of Dr. Hitchcock was that he is willing to answer any questions and really cares about his patients. His office staff has been very attentive and took time to answer all of my questions, even though they are very busy. After care is a huge emphasis in this practice. Follow up appointments are required and support groups highly recommended. Aftercare is structured to include visites at 1 week, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, they every 6 months. The risks of surgery were discussed in the initial consultation, as well as with pre op class and the group information forum.

I have only \"met\" Dr Hitchcock at the seminar. He seems to be a very kind man and was very funny. I am excited to get to meet him at my first appointment.rnrnI am 3 years post op now, I would totally support anyone's choice of Dr Hitchcock!!! He was EXCELLENT!!!!! I didn't really enjoy the hospital he uses, but he was great. My mother and my aunt have chosen him too. They are both doing GREAT!

When I first met Dr. Hitchcock, he seemed very tough... JUST what I needed! He is very caring, and answered all questions I had, and was very honest with me. The people at his office are very good at getting back to me anytime I call. His receptionist, Becky, is the greatest! I go in frequently to keep tabs on my weight, and she is always so friendly. I stop to ask if I can weigh in, and usually before I can get it out of my mouth, she tells me, \"Come on back, you know the drill with the scale.\" rn I would very much reccomend Dr. Hitchcock and his staff to anyone looking for the surgery.
