Wow Angela, your story tugs at my heart too. I too have had frustration after frustration regarding getting htis surgery done, but just like everyone says... once I beging to think my situation is stressful, I read someone elses profile who is having a harder time than me. All I can say to you sista is that God will make this surgery in his time... Do you really want surgeons who's minds are on other things like; leaving thier families, going to war, etc. operating on you? I know that EVERY military doctor has the potential of leaving at any moment, but I would prefer to have someone who is going to be around for at least a few weeks following my surgery to do follow up. You know what I'm saying sista? I feel your struggles, but I've decided that there is nothing I can do while playing this 'waiting game' other than, continue to learn more and more about how this is going to change my life by reading other peoples profiles and continuing to keep in touch with people I meet through here (thery are my support group :)). If you are interested, you can stop by and check out my profile and my website. By the way... I got to your website from Keiba's surgery page that you signed the other day and YES... you two could be sisters. You are both BEAUTIFUL. Finally. Even though I'm all the way on the West Coast, I had fun being Keiba's Angel, so, if you're still looking for an Angel, I'd be willing to volunteer. Just let me know. Have a WONDERFUL day girl. I'll check up on you again soon.

Angela, It breaks my heart to hear of your struggles. I know it is no consolidation right now, but maybe there will be a bright side somewhere that hasnt presented itself just yet. I can only imagine how tough this is for you. Please know that you have an AMOS family here that truly cares and we are all here for you if you need a friend or a shoulder. If I can help in any way please let me know. God bless you Angela -- Lea

Hi Angela (great name hehehe) Hope you have a safe journey to the other side. Keep us posted. Today the struggle, tomorrow the victory. "Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, any one can start from now and make a brand new ending. "The big challenge is to become all that you have the possibility of becoming. You cannot believe what it does to the human spirit to maximize your human potential and stretch yourself to the limit." ~ Jim Rohn "There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." ~ O. S. Marden "Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice: It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved." ~ William Jennings Bryan "Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil." ~ James Allen "I asked God to give me happiness. God said, "No. I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you." ~ Author Unknown "Put yourself in a state of mind where you say to yourself, 'Here is an opportunity for me to celebrate like never before, my own power, my own ability to get myself to do whatever is necessary." ~ Anthony Robbins "Goals give you more than a reason to get up in the morning; they are an incentive to keep you going all day. Goals tend to tap the deeper resources and draw the best out of life." ~ Harvey Mackay "Life is a challenge, but if you don't stand and risk you will never know if you were able to win or lose. Challenges are not a thing of winning or losing; they are a way of learning from them to become a better person every day! ~ Alexsander Rodriguez, P.R. "Don't ask for it to be easy, ask for it to be worth it." Dan Kuschell "In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins; not through strength, but through persistence." ~ Jackson Brown "The most important question to ask is not 'What am I getting?' The most important question to ask on the job is 'What am I becoming?'" "I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning." ~ J.B. Priestly "Each of us has an inner dream that we can unfold if we will just have the courage to admit what it is. And the faith to trust our own admission. The admitting is often very difficult." ~ Julia Cameron You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true. You may have to work for it, however." - Richard Bach "The block of granite which was an obstacle in the pathway of the weak becomes a stepping-stone in the pathway of the strong. That block of granite is often nothing more than a decision." ~ Thomas Carlyle "Being yourself is not remaining what you were, or being satisfied with what you are. It is the point of departure." ~ Sydney Harris "Risk! Risk anything! Care no more for the opinion of others, for those voices. Do the hardest thing on earth for you. Act for yourself. Face the truth." ~ Katherine Mansfield I am convinced that attitude is the key to success or failure in almost any of life's endeavors. Your attitude - your perspective, your outlook, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about other people - determines your priorities, your actions, your values. Your attitude determines how you interact with other people and how you interact with yourself. ~ Carolyn Warner "Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives." ~ Author Unknown It's never too late to be what you might have been. ~ George Eliot A wish changes NOTHING; A decision, changes EVERYTHING "So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable." Christopher Reeves "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you. For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isaiah 43:2-3 Everyone has beauty but not everyone sees it. "If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they may have planned for you? Not much." ~ Jim Rohn Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Dear Angela, I read your post about your fears and I wanted you to know that you're very normal. I went back and forth with not knowing what to do, but for me it really hit me after September 11 and realizing tha5,000 people died; they all got up that morning and got ready for work but it was their day to go. It was like a BRIGHT light went on for me; I'm going to go when God decides it's my time to go. I was at such peace with my decision to have surgery that I went into surgery smiling knowing that I'd either have a chance at a new life (which now postop I do) or I'd die and meet Jesus face to face. I'm just so thankful that I live in this day and age when surgery is available for me because I couldn't go on living in my fat body. Oftentimes I get depressed because I'm not losing fast enough and am stuck on a plateau for about 4 mos. now but then remember MY LIFE IS SO MUCH BETTER! For example, I went to the mall today with my son and although I walked VERY slowly because of my horrible knee pain I was ABLE TO WALK. Before surgery I couldn't do anything; I was practically a shut-in because of my weight. So, all I can say to you my sister is to seek out God's Peace and go with it. Deep down inside you know what you can and cannot live with. My life got unbearable and I needed my surgery. God Bless you and I pray that you will know and be at peace with whatever decision you make.

Angela I know exactly how you feel, i truly do. I went and read the memorial paged and cried. Thinking what the heck am i doing. But i feel god has led me to this, and he will see me through it. I have a 9 year old son and a 3 year old daughter, and i could not stand the thought of leaving them, but right now i am JUST here. Not really living just here... I will pray for you and that you come through this surgery with flying colors. God Bless Tasha
