well it has been a year and a half since my last posting and after starting this process all over again i am really really ready this time. i have a surgery date of sept 16th with the same surgeon and i am so excited. i needed this time to go thru cancer with my mom. she died aug 8th and i was the primary care-giver. i was able to take care of her in my home this last 1&1/2 yrs all except last 3 months. when i put her in a local nursing home and knew she would be cared for i started the process of surgery/insurance all over. i am all set now and have all my appts set. my daughter is 3 and a half now and i will turn 42 on the day before my surgery. i am ready to get healthy and be able to sit in the floor and play with her and swing on the swings and just be her best girlfriend. she and my hubby are sooo wonderful and are my best motivation now. the next step is my preop appt on sept 4th . its an all day deal with labs/hosp workup and lecture in bariatric unit of hospital. i will keep you posted. julie

Julie~~ Today would have been your 1 year Anniversary. Your profile does not say anything about your new surgery date. We would love to know when/if you had your surgery! Please come back and update your profile!

Julie, don't feel bad. I had surgery on Feb. 8 and have had alot of complications. I'm not sure I did the right thing. I still feel awful. I will check back in a week or so a see how you are doing. There was a reason you changed your mind. I was all excited and when they rolled me away (actually they made me walk) I cried NO... the whole way, Keep your chin up. Tari

WELL I BACKED OUT OF THE SURGERY AT THE LAST MINUTE. NO IT WAS NOT MY INTENTION BUT I HAVE HAD MAYBE 5 PANIC ATTACKS IN MY LIFE AND I HAD THE WORST ONE THAT DAY. I WAS SEEMINGLY FINE UNTIL THEY GAVE ME SOME VERSED IN MY IV AND ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER I WAS CRYING AND TOLD THE DOCTOR I WASNT READY. THEN ABOUT 25 MINS LATER I FELT LIKE I COULD DO IT AND MY DR SAID IT WAS TOO LATE. HE SAID THE O-R WAS ALREADY BOOKED FOR SOMETHING ELSE. I STILL THINK I WILL HAVE THE SURGERY SOON BUT I HAVE ALOT ON MY PLATE RIGHT NOW AND THO IT SOUNDS LIKE I AM MAKING EXCUSES I AM NOT. ALSO I FIGURED THAT I WOULD LOSE MY SURGEON NOW AND THE NEXT DAY HIS OFFICE CALLED ME TO RESCHEDULE. I COULDNT BELIEVE THEY WOULD GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE WITH ME BEING SUCH A FLIGHT RISK BUT THEY SAID THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. ANYWAY I GUESS IF I DO DECIDE TO GO AHEAD MAYBE I WILL HOLD THE RECORD FOR THE MOST BOWEL CLEANSINGS FOR NO REASON HAHA.
