I just got home from visiting Wendy in the hospital. It was such a pleasure to finally meet this wonderful lady face to face. I wish I could say it was an uneventful visit but while I was there Wendy's heart rate kept spiking and they decided to move her down to ICU for closer observation. So...picture this me on my crutches following behind her bed carry a huge balloon, various other stuff and an Aloe Vera plant (I was scared it was going to pop the balloon). It was quite a sight. Unfortunately her mother had ran home right before they opted to make this move so I had to leave her a message at home so she would know once she got there. Pretty nerve racking hearing a loved one is in ICU. At any rate while I was with Wendy she got her heart rate to slow and she was doing much better. She wasn't too please with her RN upstairs in the regular unit he had pulled on her NG tube and it really hurt her...that did not help the whole heart rate situation. The on-site doc said that all looks fine and not to worry, which is very reassuring! I will check in again with Wendy throughout the day tomorrow. If you haven't already please take the time to sign Wendy's surgery page. Thanks and best of luck to you wherever you are on your WLS journey! Smiles, Susan
