Maria -- I wish you the very best in your journey. I too am a patient of Dr. Capella and just had surgery March 3, and I am recuperating. I wish you a speedy journey to the other side.

Maria, I'm sending you lots of e-mail hugs. Please take no offense at the unintentional oversight to your requests for information. I personally did not respond to you because being a newby to the website myself and being pre-op, I did not feel that I had anything to contribute in answer to your request for help. However, I read the posts to the website everyday and I do know that people like Momma Angel, Sharon Neva and Teena Adler are quite good about sending posts of encouragement to all of us at some point along our journey. Sometimes, though it may take a wakeup call or two to get people's attention. I think you got it. May God bless you during this process.

Maria I am sorry that you felt ignored, I know how you feel as well. I think a lot of it is that there are just so many posts and they are not in any thread just all over the place and people are always posting things like what is your favorite movie crap and then 10,000 people answer. Then in the middle someone begging for support is missed. I finally stopped reading the message board for a long time because all I was seeing was "friends" chatting. I feel your pain, I am a year out so if you need help email me at [email protected] I have been thru the wringer so don't get scared by what you read on my profile, it does not happen to all, but I like people to see the whole picture. Take care dear. And dont get down if people blast you with nasty emails, that happened to me with a post the other day, but I got a lot of supporting emails too so that made the biggest difference.

I am still waiting, but to see my surgeon, I have my first consult for April 17th. I think waiting for the insurance is the hardest part of this journey, I think it is because you have no control over that part, someone else is making the decision. Hold on, it will happen and then you will really be on your way. God Bless

Maria, Hi. Read your post, see you're looking for an angel in Bergen County. I live in B.C., had my RNY with Dr. Benotti in July this past year, and am now down almost 100 lbs.(3 more pounds to go!) Maria, Good luck with your surgery. I worry about hair loss too. I have been told that the hair loss is related to insufficient protein intake. So, I am looking into different protein supplements. Take care, and keep us posted.
