St. Agnes Medical Center Hospital

I had been giving too much medication within a couple of hours before I was to be released and the nurse on duty over medicated me and I because very ill had developed a fever and couldin't not be released then. She admitted to me she didin't look at my chart first...this was very disturbing to me this could of occured.

The night shift was great. The day shift was the worst I've ever had to deal with. It was quite embarrassing and very hard for me to ask for help when using the restroom and the CNA and the other nursing students made me feel so embarrassed even more and made a big deal about it until my husband *Thank God I have him* stepped up and just helped me do everything I need to do. It took a long time for pain medications. Some of the day shift nurses were so snotty and I'm happy I'll never have to see them again.

The nurses were great -- when I needed help they were right there. They made my husband feel comfortable also while he stayed by my side. They were very concerned about making sure I was comfortable. I'm used to private rooms, and had to share a room with another patient, but I would rather lack a little privacy for the type of care I was given.
They made every effort to insure privacy, but when you share room you can only do so much.

I could not have asked for a better place to be for this surgery. From the courteous intake people, to the surgery prep area with excellent staff to the nurses who took care of me after the surgery and of course the operating team. I had the opportunity to share a room with someone who had another doctor and was in the hospital for the 3rd time due to mistakes made by the surgeon!!! I feel very blessed.
