Highland Medical Center Hospital

The hospital was responsive to me everytime I needed something but being a bariatric patient they won't bring things to you - you have to go to the nurse's station to get it. Dr. Hall doesn't want you lying in bed all day so they only allow 1 nap a day and then you have to be out of the bed the rest of the day.

I thought that the ICU unit was wonderful, allowing family to come and go as they wished, which was so nice ! Then once moved to the 3rd floor, The nurses were all very helpful, and especially Rose, who has been doing this for over 20 years ! She was knowledgable and considerate of my issues, and did more than her share of taking care of all my needs. She should be awarded a medal of excellence in both personality and spirit !

I thought Highland Medical was a fine hospital, but the nurses were lacking in care. The LVN's were incredible, and seemed to do all the work. I tended to watch the RN's sit a LOT! I walked by their station 10-12 times a day, and the LVN's and VISITING NURSES were the only ones who came to the room to assist me in any matter. I think a supervisor needs to keep a better watch on his/her staff.
