Highland Medical Center Hospital

I had problems with 2 nurses. First Roy in recovery. He needed me to sit up so they could get an x-ray. When I told him I was in pain he told me I could have something "after" when I told him no, now he said " Jesus Christ" and went and got it. Then yanked me up for the film. I dont remember much of recovery but I do remember him. 11-7 charge nurse Laura, as a fellow nurse often working charge myself, if a patient needs something, and your floor nurses are busy, get off your big lazy butt and get it. There was no reason I had to lay in my bed listening to the IV Complete alarm for an hour while you sat at the desk laughing and joking with the LNA's. I even came to you at the nurses station and you still did nothing.

I had to stay an extra 2 days because of some small complications. I was running fevers and vomiting. My family didn't expect this, and since the third floor had a rec room that was dedicated to bariatrics patients only, and I was the only bariatric patient on the floor at the time, they put cots in the room for my husband and two children and allowed them to spend both nights there. They fed them, and treated them FANTASTICALLY!!! They were the best. The completely understand financially hardships, and unexpected events that can arise. They don't make you feel like just another number. They were very sympathatic with me and treated me like I was the only patient on the floor.
Highland is wonderful. Don't let their small image fool you. They could put a bigger hospital to shame any day!!!
