Good Samaritan Hospital

The staff was great everyone I came in contact with was concerned and caring. All I had to do was ask and help was right there. Everyone I came in contact with treated me great. The staff gave me a great deal of encouragment about having the surgery and what a positive effect it would have on my life. I would recommend Good Sam to anyone.

I WAS ADMITTED INTO MY ROOM @ AROUND -7PM ON 5-7-03, MY SISTER WAS ABLE TO STAY DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAD A PRIIVATE ROOM, THERE WERE TIMES WHNE MY "CALL" BUTTON DID NOT WORK, IT CAME PLUGGED 7 TIMES SO MY SITER HAD TO PLUG IT IN NAD I ALSO PLUGGED IT IN OPNE TIME. WHNE MY SISTER WWNT TO THE NURSES STATION THEY LOOKED UP AT HER AND NEVER ASKED "HOW THEY COULD HELP HER" SO SHE CAM BACK IN THE ROOM TO DO IT HERSELF. I WAS WITHOUT RX FOR A HOURS BECAUSE THE NURSE "FORGOT" TO COME BACK, IT WAS A MISERABLE VISIT AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMED THEM TO ANYONE. WE SIS HAVE A "STUDENT" NURSE WHO WAS WONDERFUL ADN HER NAME WAS "STEPHANIE" AND SHE WAS THE BEST PART OF THE STAY!!!!!

I only had a few negative experiences while at Good Sam. It took 8 hours to get a room and so I was stuck in Recovery for too long. My family had limited access to me during this time which made their worry far worse than it had to be. I did have a few rotten experiences with nurses who did not want to help me move because of my size. It was very frustrating. Overall the nurses and staff were very supportive and accomodating though. I was pleased with the level of care.

I have only been in 2 hospitals now, 1 that i had my 3 kids in and this one, Good Sam is much better, friendlier and better equipped to handle larger patients.
