Good Samaritan Hospital

I had a couple of bad experiences with the hospital staff. One time I needed assistance getting to the bathroom, I pressed the button for the nursing staff and was ignored. After about 20 minutes my situation was becoming more painful, I had to ask my roommate to hit her buzzer for the nursing staff. Luckily, they did answer her buzzer and came to my assistance. I learned real quick what I needed to do to get myself to the bathroom. The rest of my stay at the hospital, I never called for the nursing staff to assist me to the bathroom. The second problem I has with the nursing staff was on the last day of my stay in the hospital. My surgeon came in around noon and told me I could go home. I waited and waited for someone from the nursing staff to come in and tell me I could get dressed to go home. After a couple of hours, my boyfriend finally went and inquired about my going home. There was one nurse who was supposed to take care of my departure who I guess was too lazy to do her job. If my boyfriend hadn't inquired about my departure, I would probably still be laying there.

I had WONDERFUL care with one exception which I took care of quickly. I did great will in hospital and only really needed help getting unhooked from drains & IV,,first hospital I have seen not make you drag your pole. I waited a bit too long in recovery (11 hours) considering I was prepaid & registered, several bariatric patients who had surgery after me were in their rooms hours before I was. They did let my hubby stay with me the entire time and hell I was feelin great so a bed is a bed
