WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH HIM, HE MAD US VERY COMFORTABLE. HE EXPLAIND EVERY STEP TO US AND ANSERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS. HIS STAFF WENT THE EXTRA MILE TO HELP AND GET MY INSURANCE APPROVED IN 30 DAYS. DR WALTERS CALLED ME AT HOME TO CHECK ON ME BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY. HE ONLY SCHEDULES A FEW PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE AT A TIME SO THERE IS USUALLY LESS THAN A 10 MIN. WAIT TO SEE HIM.DR WALTERS IS THE BEST DR I HAVE EVER SEEN, I WISH HE DID FAMILY PRATICE TOO. HE IS ALWAYS CALLING TO CHECK UP ON MY PROGRESS, I GO TO HIS OFFICE EVERY 30 DAY FOR A CHECK UP.HE EXPLAINED THE RISK ESPECIALLY BEING A MAN HE SAID MY SURGY WOULD BE MORE DIFFICULT FOR HIM, IT WAS IT 4 HRS IN STEAD OF 2 HRS. I WOULD RATE HIM GREAT.

Dr Walters was nice and seemed very concerned that I understood everything about the VGB. My first visit was on 2-27-02 and he did not rush through anything, My visit with him was anbout 3 hours long. The office staff was very conciderate and helpful, If you like nutty people you will fit in well with them. The thing I liked best about him was his willingness to make sure I was not taking this lightly and he was insistant that I take time to look into this surgery to make sure I knew what would happen and how it would be done. Aftercare is very important to him and he stresses that there will be many visits and check-ups after the surgery. The risks of surgery were well stressed and I was told that if I waqnted to change my mind for any reason it would be ok. His bed side manner and surgical competence are both very good. Now the things that I did not understand were that he seemed to joke quite a bit and some times I could not tell if he was joking to make it a very light- hearted visit to put me at ease or if he just is like that all the time. Now this is just a first impression and I will be able to tell more the next time I see him. I am not the type of person who can make a judgement call the first time I meet some one who will be that important in my health and well-being.

Dr Walters is fantastic very caring Dr., dont find those anymore. Dr Walters is very one on one with all his patiences. His staff is wonderful, Annie and Glenda very helpful on getting insurance approved. I liked everything about Dr Walters. It took me about 6 months to get in for surgery not bad wait time at all, flew by very fast. I had a question on weekend after surgery and he called me back at home right after living message with answering service. Dr Walters has 1 month follow ups after surgery. Dr Walters answered all my concerning questions. His bedside manner and surgical competence is great.

My visit with Dr. Walters, on August 29, 2001, was one of anticipation and eagerness to find out if I could be a candidate for the VBG surgery. Dr. Walters was very informative and laid out as much information as he thought I could handle on this first visit. He was very kind and seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. It was encouraging to know about his qualifications as a surgeon of bariatric surgery for the last 20 years. I feel comfortable with him as my surgeon from the information he gave and especially from his two staff members, Annie and Glenda. They provided me with his bedside manner and competencies and overall I am very satisfied.

when i first met dr. walter's i was kind of scared of him. but the more he talked, i listened. he knew exactly how i felt and what i wanted to accomplish. he is very concerned about me getting my approval for surgery. his office staff is very helpful and caring. so far i have been completely satisfied with every thing he and his office have done to help me to be approved for this surgery. thanks dr. walters, annie and glenda.

TOO BAD DR WALTERS IS JUST A GREAT SURGEN HE IS BY FAR THE BEST DR I HAVE EVER HAD AND HIS STAFF IS THE GREATEST. I AM 11 DAYS POST OP AND I FEEL GREAT. DR WALTERS AND HIS STAFF REALLY CARE ABOUT EACH PAINTENT. I DO NOT BELIVE YOU COULD FIND A BETTER MORE CARING DR ANYWERE. HOW MANY DR CALL YOU AT HOME TO CHECK ON YOU ? HE TOOK THE TIME TO ANSWER ANY QUESTION I HAD
ABOUT VBG.GLENDA AND ANNE ARE THE BEST THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE TO HELP AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE.HE ADRESSES THE SURGERY
AND ALL OF THE RISKS INVOLVED.MY SURGERY DATE IS 02/04/02 IT TOOK ONLY 2 WEEKS FOR INSUANCE APPROVAL AND HIS STAFF HANDELED ALL OF THE PAPER WORK.

12/19 WOW! It's been exactly a month and my APPROVAL came through today : ) I'm doin' the happy dance. Glenda called me and gave me a date..2/11/02 ...Oh MY GOSH that is so close yet so far away! I can't wait to be on the other side.

11/19 The letter has finally been sent out...it took forever to get some of the test results back even with all the help from Glenda and Annie at the office. Now for the waiting to begin.

10/19 Finally I have completed all the pre-testing that needed to be done. Now I have to wait at least 2 weeks for all the results to come in and then Dr.Walters will send the first letter to the insurance company. This is taking longer than I thought it would and I am starting to get anxious.


8/22 I had my initial appt. today. Wow, what a nice Dr. he even has a sense of humor! We discussed the different options out there and he was very straight forward about what he thinks would be best for me.


I haven't met or spoken with Dr. Walters yet but he comes with a high recommendation from a friend of mine who had WLS over a year ago. So far all I've done is filled out some forms on the internet and I am waiting on a reply.

I have an initial appt. set for 8/22!

DONT THINK YOU WOULD BE SORRY THAT YOU CHOSE HIM.

WHEN I WENT IN THE NURSE WAS VERY POLITE AND EXPLAIN THAT THE DOCTOR WILL SEE ME AND MY HUSBAND IN JUST A FEW MINUTES.
THERE WAS GOING TO BE ANOTHER COUPLE COMING IN BUT NEVER SHOW UP.
THE DOCTOR CAME IN AND IMMEDIATLY SPOKE TO ME AND MY HUSBAND.
THEN ASK A FEW QUESTIONS AND WENT INTO HIS EXPLANATION OF THE SURGERY AND WHAT HE DID THE METHOD HE USE AND THE TYPES OF SURGERY THAT ARE OUT THERE. MADE TWO DIAGRAMS ONE OF ROUX Y GASTRIC BYPASS AND THE VERTICAL BANDED GASTROPLASTY THE ONE HE DOES.
WENT TO EXPLAIN THE REASON HE DOES ONE VERSUS THE OTHER AND ASK IF I HAD QUESTION.
I WENT TO ASK MANY QUESTIONS.
ALL MY QUESTIONS WERE ANSWER AND TOLD ME IF I HAD MORE PLEASE CALL HIM.
MY HUSBAND ALSO HAD SOME QUESTION.
WE WERE VERY PLEASE WITH THE DOCTOR WHEN WE LEFT HIS OFFICE.
YES HE EMPHASIZE AFTERCARE, EXERCISE, AND RISK IN SURGERY.
VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, TO YOUR LAST QUESTION I THINK BOTH ARE GREAT
