Brian Gluck Bariatric Surgeon D.O., F.A.C.O.S., F.A.S.M.B.S.

my first impression of him was that he had a wonderful smile, and seemed to really listen to you. His office staff is incrediable, so nice and responsive. Right now i can't say that there is anything about him that i don't like. You should check him out i think you would really be impressed with his office staff, his aproach to this surgery, his aftercare and just his general wonderfullness. He stresses aftercare, aftercare, aftercare and has a awesome team to help you get the most of your tool, this surgery. He talks extensively about pre-surgery, the surgery itself, and post-surgery. On a scale of 1 to 10 i would give him a 20, he is just awesome. I felt surgical competence was the most important, and was willing to give on the bedside manner if i felt i was really safe in his hands, but with Dr. Gluck you get both things in spades!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok it is after surgery and my opinion has not changed. He is a AWESOME Dr. and i am so glad that i picked him. He was very caring and took such wonderful care of me. I have not had any complications, so far and i think that is do to his compatince as a surgeon. Would recommed him to anyone.

My first impression of him was that he covered every little thing and let me ask all kinds of questions...probibly dumb ones..but he says that there are no dumb questions. He let me know that I was important, and that I counted by his caring attitude. Everyone in the office is great. They are the greatest bunch I ever met...they all care! I don't know where to start to thank him for all the attention to details and the caring..I felt important! He was very up front about all the risks...he wants you to be informed so you can make an informed decision. Everything he does is for important reasons...all the structured after care is soooo important and will help you attain your goals...afterall that is what he is doing, giving you a tool to help you, to help yourself. Dr Gluck is the BEST!!

I had decided that I was going to search for a surgeon that I felt comfortable with to do my procedure. Dr. Gluck was the second surgeon that I met with. I first went to the seminar and knew then that I wanted to meet with him for it really appeared that he was emotionally connected to his work and helping people. After meeting with him and his staff, I felt a bit better about the procedure and about him possibly performing it. Still, I was doing a lot of thinking about if he was the one or not. Bottom line that over time, I came to trust him and his judgement. His bed side manner was professional but also he connected emotionally. He really asked a lot of questions of me that I had to think about. I knew then, that he would do this procedure for me if I was mentally ready myself. That is just it, he wanted me to be sucessful, and that as a "TEAM", be sucessful! It was his conviction that made me question even my own! I asked myself, "Was I ready to have this procedure?, Did I understand my eating behaviors? Was I ready for this life change? And did I understand that this procedure was just one tool, a tool that could allow me to take off the much needed weight to give me part of my life back. Also fully knowing that it was not a quick fix, but only a tool!" He has such a sense of humor and I found this great! His wife Jennifer one of the nurse's is great also. They tag team on you and his staff is pretty darn supportive also. Dr. Gluck has even called me after hours to check in on me right after my surgery. There was a time when he called after ready my primary care doctors notes that he had concern for me of having some neausea. Now that is a doctor who cares about his patients shown by his actions. I give him a 9.0 and that is just because there is always room for personal growth and perfection! Work on if Dr. Gluck! I can raise it as time goes on! :)

My first impression of Dr. Gluck was he was very friendly and easy to talk to. He answered all of my husbands and mine questions and never made us feel like we were rushed. I totally feel comfortable with Dr. Gluck and the bariatric program follow-up. His knowledge and the after care program is one of the points that lead me to pick him and his office. His office staff is beyond words :) They are so awesome, especially Renee, the insurance specialist. She was great!

He seems like a wonderful man. I am very excited to have him as my surgeon. I think he is easy to communicate with. He has a great, down to earth, demeanor about him. His team seems to have my care in top priority. They are all very friendly and wish the best for each and every patient. They inform you of your do's and don'ts you are just the one chosing whether or not to comply. I think overall I would give the facility a 4.0 GPA so far!

He did a wonderful job of explaining the procedure to me even bringing out a model of the stomach to show me a before and after. He explained everything to me very well and I was very impressed with the aftercare program he mentioned. He explained all the risks of surgery and told me what I should do to lower those risks. He even said that after surgery I would have his home phone number and to call for any reason if I am worried about something. That made me feel very safe. His staff is so nice and I felt very comfortable with them. Especially Amy and Renee, they were so nice to me.

I know I've made the right decision with Dr. Gluck. He has showed me that he really truly cares about each person that walks into his office and that means so much to me. I am so lucky I found him. I was going to go to another surgeon here in Grand Rapids, but once I started dealing with Dr. Gluck, I knew he was the best choice.

When I first went to the seminar, it scared me to hear all the facts about what was going to happen during this process. There are a lot of changes that you have to make and be committed to. I had my doubts about having the surgery because of the reality of the situation.

After having my consultation, I felt very relieved because he was so down to earth and friendly. I was afraid I was going to meet a doctor who would "talk down to me", but he is nothing like that at all. He was very honest and did not hold anything back about what to expect from WLS. The real test of your committment for WLS, is after you hear the reality of it and you still want this big change in your life.

He also has a very caring staff and they do everything they can to make you and your family feel at ease about what is going to happen.

I highly encourage people who are thinking about WLS to give Dr. Gluck's office a call for a consultation. It might help with those questions and fears you may have.

6/9/04: I've met with Dr. Gluck and feel very confident with him. He is so thorough and knowledgeable. Also "tells it like it is"; that's ok. His staff is also very organized and work really well as a team.

1/24/05: Had my 3-month post op checkup today. Everything's fine. Dr. Gluck is so caring. He never makes you feel rushed. I made the right choice with Dr. Gluck.

My first impression of Dr Gluck was a very kind and caring person. His staff is also great, kind, cheerfull, and caring. I would and do recommend Dr Gluck to everyone that I talk to about this surgery. You get a better in dept teaching of what to do before and most importantly after surgery. As his patient you can call him anytime if you have any questions or concerns. He is over all a great person and Doctor.
