Things are going very well since my unfill. I am doing so much better. I think I made a wise decision. I have lost 6lbs in the 3 weeks since I had it done and I can eat a little protein and veggies like I know I should be. Before it just wasn't right. I wasn't getting in enough calories and no solid protein at all. My hair is not falling out like it was. Thank goodness for thick hair! I'm thinking about getting a new "do" before the holidays just can't decide what yet. Just wanted to quickly check in and let you know that things are better. I'm so relieved that I was right and the doctor who was all over me about the unfill was wrong. 56lbs in 6 months! yeah!!

Well, I have waited this long to post because I was afraid of what I would say if I posted right after my unfill. Let me just say it was horrible! The doctor made me feel horrible I cried most of the time in the office and if you knew me you would know I HATE to cry. It ticks me off! Well, my choices according to the doc were to either go on a liquid diet for 2 weeks and lose 10lbs and "hopefully" the band will losen up or get the slight unfill. I was made to feel like I was doing everything wrong!! Well, after much ado and lots of tears I told him that I was not in this to be on a liquid diet and that I HAD researched this throughly and felt like I was too tight right now and that I would like an unfill. So I am back to 2cc's in my 4 cc band. I can now eat protein and my hair is not falling out as much anymore. I have lost 2lbs since the unfill (it's been a week and a half) but I have also had my period most of the time. So I again feel confident in my journey. Just wish the doctors visit wouldn't have been so uncomfortable.....I have no desire to go into that office again for a very long time.....we will see what happens.

Just checking in. After weighing all the views and pro's and con's and trying to gather all the information I can I have decided to go in for an unfill. I hate the thought of it since I take the chance of a gain especially so close to Christmas when I will go home to see my family for the first time since Surgery last May. I have lost 50lbs but would love to be down at least another 10 before Christmas. Anyway I have decided I am just too tight. I can not eat solid protein. I am circumventing the band and my weight loss has slowed to 5lbs a month. I know that is healthy but it is like a crawl to me. I was losing 10lbs a month before this last fill. I have my appt for Friday morning so I guess I will see quickly if it works for me. If not then I will go back for a fill.

I did it! 50lbs gone! Wow I never thought I was going to be able to post again!! I said I would post when I was down another 5lbs for a 50lb grand total! This month has been a very slow one. Now it's so funny I have felt like I have not lost a pound forever but really 5lbs in a month is well within a healthy range. Right? For cryin out loud I wish this wasn't such a head game! The daily weighing kills you! Well, My next big goal is to hit that 250 mark. That means 17 more pounds! That might be awhile at this rate. Hope things speed up a little. I'm not sure I need a fill I have even contemplated an unfill. I have not PB'd for a little while but I do get stuck a lot and I have decided when I can't eat I compensate with something I can eat that is not always the best choice and that is what is really hurting me and slowing down my weight loss....not to mention No Exercise again. I know, I know, it's just so hard to fit it in this time of the year. (I have got to stop making excuses!...my next goal ;-)
I'm still eating soup and salad. Not good. Meat just does not work well for me. I can eat sausages sometimes but that is not good. Even hamburger is getting stuck. I'm working on finding what works without overdoing it. Now to get through Halloween this candy is not good...I mean it's good it's not good having it around. tehehe

45lbs gone! I am losing about 8-10lbs a month now and I think I will be good with this fill for awhile now. I am at 2.25cc in a 4cc band. I have quite a bit of restriction but the best part is I am not hungry. This is a miracle to me. I can eat a very small amount and after 4 or 5 hours I am not hungry yet! This is so foreign to me and has been so great. I have not been eating much meat only ground beef since meat is difficult to eat but after reading Dr. Curry's post about having to cut meat into pieces the size of a pencil eraser and chew, chew, chew I am going to give it another try. What you need to know about my family is that my husband is a butcher and we also run a meat processing plant on our property. So no meat....it's just weird to me! I eat a lot of soup. Not a lot of soup I just eat soup at a lot of meals. I just didn't know what else to eat that I could eat. Well, on to my next goal of 50lbs! Hope to be there in October! Will check back then.

40lbs gone! woooo whoooo! What a nice feeling. I know I have a long way to go and I know that it is coming off slow and I know sometimes it is hard to eat and I mourn food sometimes but right now I love this band! I know that for the first time I will be successful!

I had my third fill the end of August. Even though I had lost 10lbs in the month since my second fill the doctor was prepared to give me another .5cc in my 4cc band giving me a total of 2.5cc but I asked him to take it a little slower and he was great about it and we split the difference and I now have 2.25cc in my 4cc band. I keep saying numbers because I know when I look at profiles I want details!! I guess I am a researcher at heart after living with a scientist all these years. I have now lost 39lbs and am at 278lbs! I have made a couple of short term goals. My first was to be in the "70's" which I accomplished this week. Then to be 275 which is in sight. My next goal would naturally be 50lbs which is only 11lbs away! Then my next biggest goal would be to see 249. Why 249? Because twice in the last decade I have reached 250 but can never get past it. Not an ounce. It seems to be a sticking point for me so to see 249 is going to be a celebration for me. That is a little bit of a ways away and would then mean a total loss of 67lbs so that will be a big day for me! Oh I have started walking again. Something I have missed dearly. I have walked over 2 miles three days this week.

Oops sorry been a little while. Got another cc so now have 2cc and doing much better. Yes, I have restriction! I have lost 8.5lbs in the last 3 weeks. It is not overly restricted but I am feeling so much better about things. I did have 2 PBing events since the fill but not too bad. One was because I "tested" the band too early. My doc said 2 days liquids after my fill. OH yeah right. It's murder to be on liquids. So I tried to eat something after 24 hours. Came back up so I did what my doctor said and waited another day. Then just this last week something got stuck because I wasn't careful. I find I am more restricted in the morning and need to wait until noon or after to try to eat. I am now at 283.5lbs So a total of 33.5 in 3 1/2 months.

I have my second fill tomorrow. I am anxious for it. I have hardly dropped a pound since my last. Things have slowed down tremendously. I do not think I lost anything this month. I knew it was going to be slow but this is nuts! :-) I hope this second fill gives me more restriction. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Fill was a breeze. I didn't hardly know he did it. I thought there would be so much more to it. I think I was in and out in 5 minutes and that was with talking to the doc for awhile. My acid reflux seems to have slowed down. Nothing last night or today. Doc said to beware the fill could make it worse. I'm on liquids rest of today and then regular food tomorrow. Funny how starving I feel today. I can not be satisfied. I have been drinking and making soups and just can't get full. Not sure why or if it's in my head because I know I can't eat. Hope this fill goes well.
