My son is officially 27 years old as of midnight tonight ~ Happy Birthday Son!! He encouraged me to have the weight loss surgery. I am 51 years old and was a BMI of 60 at a beginning weight prior to surgery of approximately 370 pounds. I feel like my surgery date of October 22, 2007 is my new Birthday! I am five days out post op and am looking for any help and suggestions from you folks about the best way to get the protein in on Stage II. I have bought two kinds of protein powder with 100% whey in chocolate and vanilla. They are pretty good. I find myself having too many protein drinks though and need to do some other things. Heck I even put chocolate protein powder in my Cream of Wheat! Wasn't bad at all really. I am wondering if low fat/low calorie cream of chicken soup is a good option and what kind of plain protein powder is good to add to this type of food? I also bought cottage cheese, fat free sugar free yogurt and puddings. Are they the right things to be eating now? Unfortunately where I had my surgery at Eglin AFB they are only truly familiar with the Gastric Bypass Surgery diet. I really would appreciate any information I can get from anyone that has had the Vertical Sleeve surgery. I look forward to hearing from you all.
