Roberta - read your recent post. Sorry to hear about your friend. I just wanted you to know want that I went through all of the changes that you are going through now (including smoking). I am 20 days post op - haven't looked back (AND haven't smoked since). Read my profile and I am sure you will relate to some of the changes. Remeber this surgery has to be for you AND you have to be ready. It is a life changing experience.

Roberta, I am wishing you a successful, complication-free surgery and a smooth, quick recovery. I had my open RNY on 12/10/01 and have absolutely NO regrets other than not having done this several years sooner. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. God bless you as you start your healthy new life.
