Evening all. Illinios angel here. I spoke with Melissa earlier this evening. She sounds great. She said it doesn't hurt as much as she was expecting. I could tell she was feeling no pain. LOL. She has been up for a short walk. Thank you to everyone who has shown their support, and please continue to keep Melissa in your prayers, that she will soon be safely back home with her family. Angel Amy here to give you an update on Melissa Doerr. I just got home from the hospital and am happy to report that Melissa is doing just fine. She was a little nauseous but they gave her something for it and she seemed to feel much better. Her surgery went fine and it only took 70 minutes. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

I just spoke with Melissa at the the hotel. Her surgery is scheduled for 7am tomorrow morning. She said she is "actually pretty calm", Her AR angel Amy is with her, and she has met a couple from Mississppi, and the wife is scheduled for surgery right after her with the same Dr. The womans husband will be driving Melissa to the hospital in the morning. It is truly inspiring to see strangers become family, due to this incredible journey. Please if you pray, include Melissa. Thank you...Illinois angel vickie p

Melissa, good luck on your trip and on your surgery Tuesday. Be kind to yourself. It can be tough the first couple of weeks, but remember it gets better fast. You are never alone on your journey so keep your chin up and your nighty closed and we'll see you on the other side. Life is waiting. Go get it!

Hi all! I'm Amy, Melissa's angel in Little Rock. I will be there to support her any way I can. I am very familier with her surgeon and he is a fine one. But even excellent surgeons could use a little extra support, so please everyone send your prayers her way.

Melissa -- Don't let the comments your friend made get you down. There will always be people who try to talk you out of this, but it has to be your decision to do this for yourself. You are the only one who really knows how much pain and discomfort is coming from your weight, and I'm sure she is just worried about you. Best of luck with everything. I hope that the surgery brings you all that you hope it will and more.
