Hi Kim, I was sorry to read about your complications. I too had complications shortly after surgery and kept telling them, finally they listened and had to operate for a second time, this was in May. I just wanted to say that finally there is a light at the end of the tunnel as I am finally getting better, and so will you! You will be in my prayers,Vicki

Hi All This is an unoffical Angel report..... I have very sad news to report about my sweet new friend Kim. I went to see Kim in the hospital on Sunday and she was going to have the leak test done....Well, you all ready know from her offical Angel she still had a slight leak....Tonight while I was in the hospital to see Kris Helms, I heard Kim was sill there. I saw Dr.'s and nurses going in and out of her room. I was very concerned so, I started asking questions. On Doc told Kris and I that she had some fluid on the lungs. I met her parents. When I saw them from a distance I knew something really bad was going on. It was written all over their face.I went in Kim's room after the Dr.'s an nurses left. Kim was very happy to see me. She was so short of breath It was very very hard for her to talk. While I was in there the Doc. came in and told her that her lung had collasped. The reason being....from all the fluid pressure on her lung. They were getting ready to do an ultra-sound on her to find out exactly where to put the new drin tube. The Doc was very up front with her about how bad the pain is going to be. He told her he was going to hurt her. She is so brave. I think she was just glad that they finally believed her. She said no matter how many times she told them about her pain, They didn't take her seriously. They were going to take her to ICU and heavily sedate her and put the tube in. I will check on her tomorrow so PLEASE PLEASE POST TO KIM'S CARD!!!!! She needs all your prayers. To you Kim.....I love my new WLS Sister! God will keep you safe. To Kim's Parents....You have the sweetest girl but I guess I don't have to tell you that! To Kim's Hubby....You have the toughest and bravest woman I have ever met! Please Post!! Michelle

Hi gang, I spoke with Kim tonight (Monday, Aug. 6, 2001)she sounded really good. They did a leak test on her today and she has a "whisper of a leak" per her doctor. She will remain in the hospital until at least Weds when she will have another leak test. Keep her in your prayers and thoughts:) She is a real trooper!
