I have completed 2 of the 3 classes. The last one was cancelled and rescheduled for next Saturday, 1/16. I can not wait to complete it then I can start my local support group here in Amador County, Jackson CA. I will hold them at Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson. I am going to see if the conference room is available on Mondays at 6:30 or 7:00 p.m., if so then I will reserve it for then. If not I will see what other day and times are available. I am going to start out every other week. If the need arises I will make it every week, but I will check it out. Once the date is set I will post it.

I guess it has been a real long time since I posted any thing. I am sorry for being bad at this. I have just had so much going on in my life. I start the OH leader classes next week. I am very excited. After I complete those I am starting a local support group. I am going to do the best to be there for anyone that needs support. I started an online support group with OH but you can not log into it till I complete the classes, then OH will activate it so all can log onto it. I am almost at my goal. I have changed it several times. I think the best thing to do is to see where my body will be happy and not me. I know that I need plastics and hope to get them done, but that will only happen if our insurance pays for it. Other wise I will just have to live with the saggy skin. I am no way complaining I love the new me. I can go anywhere and buy clothes and I can do so many things that I could never do before. I am also off all medications...........I do not miss alot of the foods that I used to eat, sometimes I do want something but I know if I have it I will get sick and that stops me in my tracks. Also I do not want to go back to old habbits, I have come too far..... So I listen to my new brain not my old one.

I started this group online and once I hopefully get the approval I will be going thru the OH Support Group Leader training. Then I hope to start a support group here in California where I live so there is a local support group that people can go to. I am so very excited about this. I hope to be an inspiration to others that are either just starting out or have already had their surgery but just need positive support and a welcoming atmosphere to come to.

Please take time and check us out. I will be adding things to this group as I find them.

I can not believe how much weight I have lost overall. As of today I have lost 65 pounds since surgery and a total of 118 pounds since May 21, 2007. I can not believe what I see when I look in the mirror I look thin compared to what I used to look like.

I am so happy I have not been in Onederland since my early teens. So that was 35 years ago. My kids can not believe the changes in me.

I can not believe I have lost 90 pounds total, and 38 since surgery. I am so greatful for this surgery. So far the only problem I have is the continued constipation. If that is all I have to deal with then I am doing fantastic. I know what I can eat and what to stay away from, because some things get stuck. So I have to stay with things like fish, shrimp, tuna, steak cause I can cook it to med and it is still very tender. I also have a very hard time with the chewable calcium it makes me want to . When what I have is gone then I will go back to pill form, since I can swallow pills alright.

December 30, 2008. Well here I am 6 weeks out and doing great. I have lost 33 pounds since surgery and 85 pounds over all. I can not believe the difference. I feel fantastic and can walk without a cane and I do not have to use the scooters in the stores. I average 3+ miles a day.

I do have problems with some foods I feel sick to my stomach but do not throw up. It does pass in awhile. I have also had some foods get stuck and that hurts. But it passes too. The worst thing is the constipation man oh man I have never in my life had it like this and as often. I think part of it was I was eating cheese every day 2 or 3 times a day and I think that was one of the problems.

I saw my Niece and Nephew inlaws on the Dec 28 and they could not get over how much weight I have lost. They said I look fantastic. I love this so much. This is the best feeling and I never want it to go away.

My next goal is to hit onederland. That is the thing I look forward to the most. I am already below what I weighed over 30 years ago when I was 17.

I went to my 1 week follow up on Tuesday the 25th, I got on the scale and had lost 5 pounds yeah for me.

I was taking Metformin per Surgeons orders and my numbers were getting lower and lower, no wonder I was not feeling good, so I went from clear liquids to full liquids and that helped a little.

So I was taken off all diabetic medication as of today and my numbers are finally in the normal range not to low or to high perfect. Yeah!!!!

My incisions are healing very nicely. Just a little itchy. My blisters form the bandage tape look worse than the surgery scars.

I can see the difference in my face, I look younger. I am now offically only 20 pounds heavier than I was when I was 17 years old. I can not believe it, I am getting closer to onderland the place I never thought I would ever see in a million years but thanks to this surgery and God and Dr Coates I will.

Nov 18, 2008, I had my surgery and it went pretty well no complications to speak of they were just worried because my heart rate was low.

I came home Thursday having some pain not as bad as I was expecting. Friday I was not feeling well at all I think I am not getting enough rest.

My DH was being a pain again talking to me about what he wanted to eat, he said I do not want to eat this so I think I will cook up a couple of burgers and fries. Or I could just go out and get a couple of burgers. I got mad at him and told him to just stop it and eat. He does this to me all the time. He just does not get it. He only thinks of himself and no one else.

When I was told that my surgery was canceled the next day I called the surgeons office and found out that they faxed the papers to the insurance company for approval. This was Oct 21. They said they will let me know when they get the approval.

Well I am not one to sit around and wait for someone else to do something that is important to me. So I called the insurance company on Oct 23 and found out I was approved. So I called the surgeons office and told them and they said as soon as they get the letter they will call me and schedule my surgery.

I called the insurance company again to find out when the letter was going out. They said it went in the mail that day Oct 23. So I figured that the surgeon would either get it the next day or the following Monday and if they did not call me I would have called them before 5pm when they close.

So on Oct 27 I got the call and was scheduled for surgery on NOV 18 and I will be the first patient because of my diabetes. Yeah Yeah Yeah

I am so very happy I can not wait.
