Denise, I had the same problem with my ankle (just bad arches though but very painful at times) I started out at 407 lbs. I found water aerobics to be a life saver. Also when I did have to walk I used an ankle brace. Now after 80lbs down I am finding that the pain is getting less and less each time. Hope this helps, God Bless you with your surgery...

Even dancing in your living room is weight-bearing on that foot..Can you possibly swim or ride a stationary bike.?

I wanted to congratulate you on your upcoming surgery!!! I'll bet you're doing a happy dance accompanied by some "NERVES", but don't worry be happy!! You are in my thoughts and prayers, I hope everything goes well and you are up and out and about real soon!!!
