Congratulations on not smoking. I know it is hard, I just quit July 8 of this year..Each day gets easier..I already can't stand the smell of smoke...gags me now...My friend and I went to the Kettle today and she smokes so we sat in the smoking section, I thought I was absolutely gonna vomit.....I could not finish my food, not that it hurt me to miss any of a meal..lol...anyway, best of luck to you...It does get easier...

Denise, congrats on being smoke free for 10 days. Each and every day is important and a huge milestone. I quit 30 days before my surgery and never went back. I had smoked for over 30 years. You can do it because you need to be the healthiest you can be for your new life. Good luck and hang in there! We're all rooting for you.

It's the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance. It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance. It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give, and the soul afraid of dyin' that never learns to live. Thinking of you as you take this step to a happier..healthier life..you deserve this..*hugs*

Hello Denise!!! Dec 17th you say? Looks like we boths have to give up the Christmas cookies together! I know you are worried about blood clots. Take it from a pro, walking is the best thing after surgery. Just ask my wife, she makes me walk a marathon every day!

Hi Denise, I had thought I had said a big ole thank you but as I looked through your surgery comments I didn't see my name. Woops sorry. I do want to thank you for your well wishes. Dec 17 will be here before you can believe it. I have waited an entire year just so I could get Doctor Huse as my surgeo. I've heard from other doctors that he is the best, and worth the wait. Glad to hear he has been doing these surgery for so long and has only lost 4 people. Hope I am not number 5 ha. He is just beginning to do the laproscopic surgery and he is doing that on me. If you have any questions I could answer about my surgery email me after I get home. I will be thinking of you in Dec. God Bless

Denise. Thanks for posting on my page. I think you are making the right decision staying with your first choice surgeon. Go with the gut. Good luck to you. Sherri
