Hi all, Just giving you all and update on Mary. She is still in the hospital. She has a significant amount, (over 1 liter) of fluid in her plural cavity which is giving her pain and preventing her lung from inflating. She has been placed back on oxygen. The drain tube they installed on Thursday has not helped much. The Dr.'s have decided that the best course of action is to remove the fluid. Today, 17 June, at 12:00 they will be putting her under to make three incisions and go in with a camera and suck out all the pockets of fluid that they can see and then verify with a chest CT. Expected recovery time for this procedure is three days to a week. I went to Pa. yesterday and picked up my mother to stay with the kids this week because I have to go back to work tomorrow. Your calls of encouragement has been helpful to her because she is lonely and frustrated about her extended stay. I will write more when I know more. Tim (Mary's Husband sent this out as an update) Praying for a speedy recovery Mary!

*Update on Mary* I spoke to Mary yesterday. She is still at Yale recovering from fluid in her lung and a partial collapsed lung. They put a chest tube in on Wednesday to drain the fluid and she hopes to be home the beginning of next week. She is very anxious to get home to her children and out of the hospital. Please stop by Mary's surgery page and give her some words of encouragement that it will all be worth it in the end! Thanks
