Joy - I lived in Western NC for 10 years and now am back home in SC. Over the years I have ballooned up to 227 and I'm 5'3" I am 54 but most folks think I'm about 40. I have done all the preliminary stuff and see my WLS surgeon on May 23. I can hardly wait and envy you so much. I had a JIB in the 70s and "ate through it". I feel you have made the best decision and I know you will do well because you have such a good attitude. Just remember.. walk all you can, breathe deeply and get your proteins in.... drink up, my dear... you're on your way! I'm a Ms. by the way.. not a Mr.

Hi Joy! Good luck on your upcoming surgery! You will be SO HAPPY to be on the "other side" as a "LOSER"!! I am almost three weeks post-op and this is THE BEST decision I have ever made! You will be in my prayers! God speed.. Kathy McDonald

Best wishes to you as your new life begins. I pray that you will have a safe surgery and a rapid recovery. Be sure to follow your doctors orders and you will be watching your pounds melt away!! I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and I am feeling great!!

Joy, just wanted to wish you luck on your upcoming surgery. I will be praying for you and your surgeon. I just read your post and the way you will be picturing yourself after you lose weight and when you said you would be 50 I had to check and make sure I was reading the right post. Your photo doesn't look a day older than 30. Best wished for a speedy recovery.
