Dear Lynda, I am so sorry about the death of your mother. I, too, lost my mom in July. I know how hard it is to lose the person who has known you and cared about you the longest. Hold on to all of the happy memories! Now...of course you are sad and lonely; there is no "doing well or poorly" when it comes to losing a treasured companion. Are you going to your wls support group meetings? Or, perhaps there is a support group for people who have lost a loved one to cancer? Please try to find someone or group of someones to help you through this time of huge change and upheaval! I will keep you in my prayers! Hugs, Katherine

Lynda, best wishes for your upcoming surgery. I had mine in November 2000, and I have never had a single regret. One thing that may help to remember is that the nervousness is over with when you wake up in the recovery room to your new life.
