LESLIE~~ COULDN'T OF SAID IT BETTER MYSELF! So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable

Leslie~Hi! My surgery is 1-23-03 and I also have a set of twins and gained 100lbs after thier birth. I also have not started giving things up yet. I don't think it will be any easier if I give them up now instead of later. BUT I could be wrong!! I think if you give it up later you do it because you have to (you have no choice). Kind of like being on crutches or confined to a wheelchair, both of which I had to dobefore!! Good luck on your surgery!

LESLIE~~ You had 3 questions, but I only have the answer to one of them.... I lost my hair... in fact, I actually looked like I'd gone through chemo... but, it only lasted about 3 months and now it's growing back... and YES, I lost it "everywhere".... BEST WISHES ON YOUR WLS JOURNEY...

Hi Leslie, I read the free chapter of the book as well. I have heard here about people sometimes getting ulcers, that's a complication that can happen. As far as the emotional part. I know from all I have read that I had better be prepared for giving up the "comfort" of food. I hope that I am. I have decided that I have eaten everything I wanted for 43 years and look where it got me. I am sure there are some people that find they have a hard time handling the issue of not being able to eat the same ever again. Everyone is different. I have tried to prepare myself for that. I won't know if I have for sure until the time comes. I just pray that being thinner and healthier mean much more to me than chocolate cake and twinkies. Hope this helps you a bit. Best wishes to you.

Leslie....I'm at work and cannot check my e-mail at home but I'm anxious to check it tonight. It's too bizarre that you sent this e-mail because today has been a really "questionable" day for me. If you read my post prior to yours you can see that I am really, really freaked out today. I would like to hear more about what you find out about this as my surgery is Monday, 1-13-03....plse keep me posted. Tammy Blough @ [email protected].. Thanks.

Leslie, If you continue to open yourself up to God, He will reveal himself to you and you will come to feel closer to him.It doesn't happen over night, you have to take baby steps. It takes time in any relationship, to build trust. I pray you will have a safe surgery and a smooth recovery. Good luck, you have a family here...Blessings,
