HAPPY, HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!! I have been scheduled for my pre-op visit July 9th. I was told after the pre-op it would probably be about 2 weeks until the surgery. I wish it was tomorrow. I had a hard time with my insurance. I BCBSofNC through the Cobra plan. They initially denied my surgery. I was told I had to write a letter of appeal. So I did that. I also got my medical doctor, two surgeons that have been seeing me for my legs and the surgeon that is going to do the surgery to writh more letters. I was told by a BC rep that they had denied me at first but had changed their mind and decided to approve and that I didn't need to appeal after I had already done that. They have had me going round and round. They faxed the letter of approval to Dr. Birkitt but they had the wrong code on it so that was another day of waiting. God knew what he was doing when he gave me patience because it sure takes a lot to get all of this together. He has been with me so far through all of this and I know He will be with me the rest of the way. I have gained so much weight that I can't get behind the wheel to drive anymore and I live about 2 hours away from the doctors office but I have had so many friends and family offer to drive me over there. Everyone has been so supportive in my quest to get to the other side. I love and appreciate them all and also everyone of you that has written me and prayed for me. I will update again soon. PRAISE GOD!!!! I finally got my approval. I called BCBS office yesterday and they told me I had been approved and that they had mailed me and Dr, Birkitt a letter. I haven't received mine yet. I guess I need to be a little more patient but it's hard to do since I have been trying to get something done for so long. It seems like forever. I just have to leave it all in God's hands and I know He will take care of everything. Dr. Birkitt will have to receive his letter before he can schedule anything. His assistant told me they had 700 on their waiting list. She said they would try to work something out for me just as soon as possible. I would like for everyone to pray that this will happen before my insurance runs out in September. I want to thank everyone in advance.

Contact your STATE Representative and Senator and contact your STATE Department of Insurance. They may be able to call the lobbyist for BCBS and get the process expedited. Tonya
