Deaconess Hospital Hospital

Deaconess has a great program for Baratric Patients under the direction of Dr. Trace Curry.
I came from out of state to have Surgery at Deaconess with Dr. Curry.
I live in Indianapolis, and I have been an inpatient at several of my area's hospitals. I received as good if not better care at Deaconess which is a much smaller hospital than those I have been in, in Indianapolis. I have to say that the experience was excellent all the way around. The staff made me feel very well cared for. This was very important being far away from home and in a strange place. I was alone most of my stay and that wasn't a problem at all, that is how well I was taken care of.
This has been a very positve experience.

My experience at Deaconess was exemplary. The staff was compassionate, super attentive and always accessible. The accomodations were on par for what one should expect. My overall impression was superlative and I consider myself a rather harsh critic.
To me a hospital is above all else it's people and my experience at Deaconess from beginning to end ranks as the best of my life. As a 51 year old from a medical family I've seen a lot of changes in health care over the years. Deaconess is a throw back to a time when every single patient was the reason they existed. Confident, compassionate and attentive people. If you've ever watched shows about Las Vegas VIPs you'll be familiar with the term "Whale". If you've ever wanted to experience the positive side of being treated like a "Whale", this is the place for you.

There is a nurse shortage here as there is in all other local hospitals, still this hospital lives up to it's reputation of excellence and caring. It is my surgeon's practice to put his patients in ICU for several days after wls and that added attention and nursing attention is appropriate and comforting.

No one offered me the opportunity to take a sponge bath, when I was throwing up, it was my niece and cousin who took care of me because they couldn't get the nurse. I was not impressed with this hospital and hope that I never have to be a patient there again. Thank goodness and my surgeon that I didn't have any major problems!

My experience was as good as if not better than any other hospital I've used. They have an added bonus of rooms that your out-of-town family can use during your stay (for a very reasonable price.)

This hosptial let my husband stay with me the entire time, which meant the world to me. He did a lot of things for me and thank God that I had him, because I was in the hospital over the weekend and given the fact that there is such a nurses shortage I would recommend that anyone going into any hospital -- not just this one-- take an advocate with you. Your family or friend can get you ice and little things like that which mean so much when the nurses are busy with other patients. I found the staff to be nice and friendly.
