Dr. Rabkin is an awesome person. He's always been around to help me. He's compassionate.

The office staff is disorganized at times but they always manage to help you. Plus, they are very kind people.

I just feel there are too many patients and wish they could give current patients more time.

You couldn't be in better hands.

Aftercare for RnY patients was not very good, I had to research most of that myself. Dr. Rabkin focuses only on the DS procedure (I was the next to last person to have the RnY).

The risks of surgery were discussed.

I would rate the surgeon A+.

Both surgical competence and beside manner are crucial with a procedure like this. After surgery, we are all like infants once again, and the psychological impact is immense. A caring individual needs to be in charge of your care.

He is very thorough and gentle

His office staff is very helpful and patient

so far he seems very competent - he is rather reserved - but his nurse is very outgoing
The aftercare program is structured , with group meetings and they stress attendence at aftercare meeting

I have not yet met Dr Rabkin, I know he's very busy and by all reports the best surgeon currently available for a Lap DS, I'm very happy that my PC referred me to him for my surgery.

The staff is somewhat over-extended but it has gotten better since my first visit, just remember to arm yourself with patience and good-will.

All the waiting was well worth it, Dr Rabkin did an excellent job, scars are almost invisible and I have had no problems whatsoever.

After-care is out-standing.

I HAD HAD SURGERY WITH DR. RABKIN BEFORE. HE IS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND COMPETENT REGARDING OBESITY PROBLEMS AND SURGERY.
I WOULD SAY HE IS ONE OF THE LEADERS IN THE NATION FOR OBESITY HELP. HE HAS BEEN INVOLVED FOR OVER 20 YEARS. HE HAS BEEN IN TOUCH WITH HIS PAST PATIENTS FOR HISTORY.
HE IS VERY SUPPORTIVE AT HIS MONTHLY SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS FOR HIS PATIENTS.
HE TRIES TO KEEP WELL-STAFFED WITH QUALIFIED PEOPLE. HE DOES GOOD FOLLOW-UP--KEEPING TRACK OF BLOOD TESTS YOUR ABSORPTION LEVELS. KEEPS TRACT OF CALCIUM. IS SUPPORTIVE WITH NEWSLETTERS AND A FIELD STAFF. DR. RABKIN HAS GOOD BEDSIDE MANNER, AS WELL AS, MEDICAL/SURGICAL COMPETENCE. HE HAS NOW BROUGHT HIS BROTHER INTO THE GROUP TO ENHANCE HIS PRACTICE. HE HAS CHANGED FROM 2 EXAMING ROOMS TO 10 IN TWO YEARS. THE ONLY THING NEGATIVE ABOUT DR. RABKIN IS HIS ASSOCIATION WITH BLUE CROSS AND THIS MAY NOT BE HIS FAULT.

Good first impression, had word od mouth recommendation for satisfied patient.

Great staff, good educationand support group system.

Great website with all nesessary pre-op and post-op instructions on line.

Major portion of initial consultation was a group session and was educational.

Good presentation on risks, requires arbitration agreement.

I found out about Dr Rabkin when Evening magazine did a feature on his practice and they interviewed his patients. I was so impressed by the show I went out to his web site and started going to the support group meetings to find out more. Boy was I impressed! I had never seen so many people
be so happy with this guy!

He has a great bedside manner, very genuine.
and he is one of the pioneers of the DDS procedure. His staff is also pretty good
but they are sort of scattered with their
paperwork and their ability to coordinate
the process.

Dr Rabkin and his staff emphasize greatly the importance of aftercare.

They have a great monthly support group
in which they discuss issues and care for each other.

These are my impressions of the process.

Dr. Rabkin's office staff have been very nice throughout this whole process. Barbara is the RN for post op patients but I 've always been able to talk to her since she came for the group meetings. I have not met Dr. Rabkin yet but will do so very soon for my pre-op. The impression I've got from people that have had surgery with him is that he is very kind. I will be able to tell you more as the surgery date nears.

1st Conult - I felt comfortable with Dr. Rabkin from the very begining. He seems to be very caring and I felt like he was really interesed in my questions even though they are so busy.

Rabkin and his side kick Mike Rossi, PA are the best...have no fear the super surgeons are here.

I have not met Dr. Rabkin yet, but I have talked with him on the phone and he really seems to care. I was having a terrible time with his office staff though. I have been told by others if you can just get past the office staff, Dr. Rabkin is the "MASTER" of the DS surgery. It was hard to come up with surgeon's fee up front but my husband said he would sleep in our car to save money (while I am in the Hospital) if he had to just so I could have Dr. Rabkin as my surgeon. My surgery date is Jan 22, 2002 and I am scared but also finally getting exited! I will write again when I am a post op.

I really liked Dr. Rabkin. He was very interested in what I had to say. Very helpful in my qualifing for approval with the insurance company. The nursing staff was great.

The nursing staff is very informational and I would recommend him to anyone who wants the surgery!

Dr. Rabkin has great bedside manners and I trust him based on his resume.
