Mark Pack Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I was wondering same thing. I had mine in 04 with Tompkins and he oesen't do revisions. One dr in Huntington won't do it due to the fact that another dr did gastric bypass. What are you thinking about doing? Lap band or fobi? I had hip replacement last year have two bad knees and have gained so much weight I can barely move. Let me know if you get anywhere with any dr around here. Maybe we can do it together LOL..take care and good luck!

I met Dr. Pack and Diane(nurse) at seminar and they were really nice and helpful. They gave everyone time to ask questions and they answered every one. They gave us all the information, the good and the risk. I really enjoyed it and my husband learned alot too. Dr. Pack takes time to talk to you and answer all your questions. And Diane is so helpful and I am so excited about surgery when I talk to her, she really makes this process seem easy and she works hard for you.

nice very concerned now that i have had the surgery my opinion is he is as fine a doctor as you will find. His office staff were wonderful and very informative both Doctor and staff made you feel like family he has both surgical competence and a great bedside manner everything was explained to me in detail

I went to see Dr. Pack for the first time in June. He is the same today as he was then. He is a very down to earth kind of person who cares about his patients.
His staff is GREAT!! Diane and Heidi are the best. They really kept on top of things and did everything they could to make it easy for me. They are just as excited for you when you go in as you are to be there.
I am still pre-op, so at this point I don't know much more but even when I went over into the hospital,(Our Lady of Belfonte),everyone I had contact there with, told me what a great surgeon he was.

I am post-op now and had some complications with surgery. I was in ICU for 4 days and had to return to surgery 2 more times. First for an obstucted bowel and then for exploritory surgery 11 hours later.
I think Dr. Pack did a good job with me but I wish the obstruction would have been caught during the first surgery. My bowel became kinked during the first surgery. I don't know if he didn't see it because he was doing it lap. or if maybe he hasn't had alot of experience yet doing the lap. procedure. He has only been doing it for about 6 months and I'm not sure how many of them he has actually done.
Anyway, he got it corrected. He stuck with me until I got better. He was great about coming to check on me and was there in minutes when they called for him at the hospital.
I had a great bunch of gals and guys taking care of me at the hospital with the exception of one nurse. I did not get the treatment that was needed from her and I wonder if it had alot to do with why I ended up back in surgery the third time.
I guess I will never know for sure what happened but I am thankful that Dr. Pack got me through it all.

My first impression of Dr. Pack was amazing!!! My impression did not change over time. I really enjoyed my first visit with him. He was compassionate, understanding, knowledgeable, he explained the entire surgery and drew pictures of the surgery. He gave me important information about the surgery. He has great bedside manor.
His office staff followed me through my whole journey and were extremely supportive and understanding and easy to talk to. They as well as Dr. Pack most importantly listened to what I was saying and understood my fears as well as my desire to have the surgery. Dr. Pack and his staff were always there when I needed them. I had my surgery almost 2 years ago and if I call them now they are always still there for me.
Furture patients should know that DR. Pack is an excellent understanding doctor.
They have an excellent aftercare programtoo. I still go to his support gropu meetings. They are enjoyable and well informing.
Dr. Pack addressed all the risks of the surgery. He explained to me everything that could possibly happen
How would I rate Dr. Pack. Well! I would deffinately have him do my surgery all over again if I had to. I would not another Doctor to do it.
Surgical competence of course is the most important thing but sure helps when the doctor has a good bedside manor too. It makes one feel more at ease and confidant.
Now these are my own personal feelings and impressions of Dr. Pack and his staff and in no way have anything to so with anyone else's experiences or feelings or statements concerining DR. Pack and his staff.
I just read your staemtn below stating that no person can be the best in all aspects; but let me tell you that what I have written in here abiut Dr. Pack and his staff are and were 100% true. I have had NO bad experiences with him, or his staff. They have really been good with me. So I guess what I am trying to say is; That sometimes there is an exception the the rule. Not everyone has a bad experience with a doctor or his staff. thank you for asking me what and how I felt. Sally

I think Dr. Pack is a wonderful surgeon.

I first met him when I went with my son for his consultation, he preformed surgery on my son CJ May 13 2004.

CJ has gotten along very well, and received wonderful aftercare.

I will have him do my surgery also, as soon as I get through the Insurance problems.

Dr. Mark Pack is a very caring and friendly surgeon. He has always explained everything to me in easy terms for me to understand. I tottally trused him with doing my surgery. And, am very happy with how he took care of me.

I could not say anything but "wonderful" about Dr. Pack. He is so down to earth and makes you feel more comfortable than I ever have in a doctor's office or hospital. His staff is friendly and very efficient. Dr. Pack has impressed me from the day I first met him. He is obviously very intelligent and a skilled surgeon. He seems to always have his patients interest at heart. Dr. Pack is very personable and doesn't talk over your head. He relates to you on your level and makes everything very clear. He will not go any further, until he is sure that you understand.

I would trust him to do any further surgeries on me, mostly because of how well I did and I know that he does not stop until he knows you are a 100%.

I would encourage anyone to contact Dr. Pack, I have nothing negative to say about my whole experience.
