I have loved Dr. Weber from the very start. He is very relaxed and also very upfront.
I have read that some think their first appt. with him is too quick, but I think that this is because he doesn't want to waste either yours or his time until you actually get approved from your insurance....At the next appt. (which should be your pre-surgery- appt.) he will give you all the time in the world and answer all of your questions.
Dr. Weber really emphasizes aftercare... infact you must be on an exercise program before surgery. He is really upfront about the risks and his morbidity rate.
I would rate him a 10! His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great!!

Dr. Weber dresses casually and is never in a hurry. He Obviously exercises daily as he is very fit. I felt comfortable speaking with him and he is approachable in his demeanor. He really is a stickler about exercise and has requested I exercise 7 days a week before and after surgery. He requires an exercise log whenever you see him and a truthful food log. I feel very comfortable with him doing this surgery. He is not in it for the money and he enjoys helping his patients lives change for the better.

My first impression of Dr Weber was a good one. He seems so upbeat and really cares about you. He has a very positive attitude, but isn't afraid to tell you about things that have gone wrong with some of his patients. I really liked Lisa, she was very sweet and helpful. Dr Weber really STRESS EXERCISE!!!! He won't even consider doing surgery on you if you don't have an exercise plan. I would rate him a 10! The only thing negative I can about him is that he talks kind of fast so you may have to have him repeat himself on things.

The first time I saw Dr Weber was at the group seminar in April, he was very informative, he let everyone know the good and bad.
My first appoitment with him was in July, it was a very fast appointment, he was pleased that I have already started losing weight before surgery and excercising.

Dr. Weber seems to be a very personable guy. When I went to his office he was just so relaxed and friendly. He made me feel very comfortable. I found his office staff to be very friendly as well. I am glad I made the decision to see Dr. Weber. He made it clear to me that he will be in it for the long haul and I believed him when he said that.

I liked Dr. Weber right away. He is so experienced that he moves you through pretty quickly on your first interview. I would recommend for any practice to do a very thorough consideration of the patient's current medications prior to surgery to insure the client is treated with those meds post-op. I was older than most of his patients and it's possible that should have been given more thought/preparation. His nurse, at that time, was very helpful and always carried through with what I needed. The only thing I would have improved my experience would have been if he could have spent more time during appointments. However, he was still very thorough and just had that "clipped" demeanor. Even with that said, he was still able to be warm and supportive on all occasions. I felt my aftercare instructions were adequate. There is no structured aftercare program that I was aware of. He definitely addressed the risks of surgery but unfortunately (or fortunnately?) his mortality rate was extremely low. Out of the 900 or so cases he had at the time I had my surgery(2001) he had had only 2 deaths and one of those was a person that he knew was "leaking" and she refused to come in to the hospital. He had one other male patient that had a horendous post-op course but made it through without any major systems shutting down, so he lived. Unfortunately, I turned out to be the second person he did surgery on that had nearly every post-op complication except death. I had a total of 3 surgeries within a few days of each other to deal with obstruction and then peritonitis due to a tear in the staple line of the blind pouch. I had pulmonary emboli twice and an uper GI bleed out requiring 4 units of blood. I was in ICU for 6 weeks then one week of rehab before I could go home. I can tell you the entire process was torture and I was certain I would die. But here I am, obviously not dead and went from 300lbs to 164lbs in less than a year. Despite all this, I can honestly say the post-op complications weren't related to his skill as a surgeon. And if you can believe this, I would go through it all again(if you assured me I would not die)to get the results I did, which was to get "my life back". THe lesson to this is listen very closely to the risks of this surgery-it is DANGEROUS. Carefully consider whether you are ready to go through what I did or even die. It happens. Because my surgeon had been so good or lucky in terms of his mortality rate I think I went into it thinking it would be a "walk in the park" and then I'd be beautiful. No matter how good your surgeon is, you may still die. I would consider this long and hard. And after you lose all of the weight, you have the loose skin to deal with so I still don't feel good about my body. I was fortunate to be approved for a breast reduction which really bolstered my feelings about myself. And there is nothing else wrong that couldn't be cured by $30,000 or $40,000 of plastic surgery. I wan't prepared to deal with all of my body changes. Most importantly, I'm alive, I can walk all day if I want to, I don't have back pain (before the surgery I couldn't stand for more than 15 minutes at a time). And I look damm good in my clothes! Just not so good without them! My philosophy over what happend was this: someone has to contribute to the statistics in the negative and I just had the bad luck to be the one. So in conclusion I must add that except for my hospital course post-op, everything written here is just from my personal experience and from my impressions. What I have written here in no way reflects what your experience will be. And when someone acuses you of "taking the easy way out" (and they will)just laught it off, knowingly. Think about having the procedure long and hard then go for the brass ring if you're ready. I wish you all success and good health. Bless you.

My first impression of Dr. Weber was, "I like this guy!" Dr. Weber has a professional directness wrapped in a no-nonsence approach and sprinkled with a bit of humor when appropriate as he discusses your health. Make no mistake -- Dr. Weber is your medical partner for the rest of your life where your weight is concerned. He is clearly committed to you as his patient and he holds you accountable for your set of responsibilities!

As for his Staff, I found them to be very good at what they do. Dr. Weber's "no-nonsence" style is evident in the Staff as well. I took on as much responsibility on gathering paperwork and test results to include confirming that tests results were either sent or received, etc. or getting the same to the Office as I could.

I will comment further once I've had the surgery. . . . .in 17 days!

Dr. Weber is a great man. I find him direct, supportive, and very dedicated.

His office staff could be more effecient. It took them 6 weeks to submit my paperwork to insurance. Insurance only took 3 days to approve.

I'm very impressed by Dr. Weber's Pre and Post-op care. It's why I selected him.

My first impression of Dr. Weber was of immediate comfort. I first met him at his Surgery Info Seminar and he walked in wearing jeans, and red thermal shirt and clogs. I was like, "THIS is SO my surgeon." None of this stuffy doctor coat, suit and tie shenanigans, just a real guy. I love that about him. I have adored him since the moment I met him and I trust him implicitley.
His staff is wonderful. They have been SUPER helpful, and patient with my jillion calls and questions.
The thing that really makes me reccomend Weber is his strict after-care rules. He leaves NOTHING to chance. He is very straight forward in that if you don't think you can follow his rules to a T, he is not the surgeon for you. I appreciate his concern and care for each and every one of his patients.
He does not beat around the bush, he tells it like it is, and makes sure you understand what is going to happen, what could happen, and the likelyhood of it happening. Through all this he has SUCH a great sense of humor.
I rate Weber a 10. He's the man!
