Dr. Alvarez takes care of everything absolutely everything you want for nothing. His staff is amazing they're PHENOMENAL they're doing EVERYTHING RIGHT! He is so humble down to earth willing to talk to you joke around with you always smiling just super PHENOMENAL guy! The surgery I had went off without a hitch. I won the largest stomach of the day award. Seriously, if you're considering having VSG surgery there's no one better to do it then Dr. Alvarez. The service you get is exceptional it's far above anything you would get in the US. The care and concern they take in everything all the way down to the details of the paint on the walls. Dr. Alvarez you have put so much attention to detail and organization of the whole process . If you're thinking of having VSG go to Dr. Alvarez you won't go wrong with this PHENOMENAL doctor! Amazing experience! I am a RN and the care I received was better than any care I’ve received in the US. The staff is so professional and friendly. The surgeons checked on me constantly. Dr. Alvarez is approachable, available and so kind and friendly and knowledgeable. By the time my husband left the facility, we felt like we were leaving friends and family behind. There’s no waiting long for a nurse to come once you call—they are right there within moments, which is really comforting and nice when you’re in pain and nauseated. The facility is 5 star, and just absolutely beautiful. It’s gated and there’s a shuttle to take you to and from the facility if you want to do a little exploring around the city. We felt more like we were on vacation than anything. The hotel and the hospital and the hospital rooms are all in the same building, so you never have to leave. Post op I’m doing very well! Dr A messages us weekly to guide us and check in. He’s always available when I’ve needed or wanted to contact him with questions post op. I had very little pain and very little nausea, but what little I had was taken care of promptly. I’ve been healing great, getting along great and so far I’ve lost 42 lb since starting my preop diet on 4/15. I lost 20 lb before surgery and 22 lb since surgery. I would do this again and again!!! Don’t think, just do it!!

absolute great guy and surgeon. he completely cares about his patients pre and post op. everything from how you are getting to his facility to how you are treated once you are there. how comfortable and knowledgeable you are about the upcoming procedure both pre and post op. he shows you what to expect every step of the way even after you’ve left his facility. he is just a down right genuine guy who loves what he does and who truly cares about his patients and it shows in ask of his interactions. His staff mirrors his leadership. they are all very kind and professional.

On my way back from three days at the Endohospital with Dr. Alvarez and I could not be happier with my decision. As all of the reviews say, he and his staff are world class. From the moment you are picked up to the moment you are dropped off, your every need is taken care of. I give Endobariatrics and Dr. Alvarez my highest recommendation!

I could not be more pleased with my experience at the Endobariatric Clinic with Dr. Alvarez and team. I had thought about this surgery for a very long time and after much research, chose Dr. Alvarez due to his fantastic reviews and overall philosophy. Wow! I was even more impressed upon scheduling the surgery and the support along the way. Everything was laid out so easy to understand and I had every question answered beyond satisfaction. The surgery was a breeze and the facility top notch. Really, words can't do justice to this amazing doc and team. I had surgery 5 weeks ago and am so glad I chose Endobariatric and Dr. Alvarez. My life has truly changed for the better.

I want to start this review with thanking my coordinator Rosie. I’ve met so many coordinators and I’ve just never been so happy with the help and guidance she gave me. First things first as soon as I got there I felt all my nerves drop. I actually drove to the hospital and it was a smooth ride. I didn’t have any problems what so ever. The hospital is near the border. I had my surgery May 28, 2021. The hospital and the staff as soon as I got there was so helpful welcoming and professional. They were all fluent in both English and Spanish. I was there one day before surgery and to know you are able to sleep in their hotel on the 4th floor a day before surgery is just epic. I woke up the next day and was ready for Dr. A to perform my gastric sleeve procedure. I got to meet my little group of people that were also getting surgery the same day as me. We all had a meet and greet with Dr. Alvarez the day before surgery and it was just amazing knowing how passionate my doctor is. It was amazing how you can see his amazing recognitions all over the hospital. You have a cafeteria in the first floor. The cafeteria staff was always there when we needed something. I definitely recommend the Poblano soup. Fast forward to my day of surgery. I was the 4th one to get my surgery that day. It went by fast by the time you knew it I was next. The doctor comes and talks to you before your surgery and so does the anesthesiologist. They’re both such amazing doctors. I want to give a big shout out to Cecilia for getting my IV in with no complications. Cecilia also had her playlist on and it was nothing but worship music. I remember singing worship songs. I could also hear two other girls singing it with me. When I was getting sent to the operation room, Cecilia came another nurse and a guy nurse they all were very nice to me & made me laugh and I was at ease and before you know it I was out. Then next thing I know I was awake and being pushed to the recovery room where my husband waited. I was in no pain what’s so ever. My throat was a little sore and uncomfortable but it was better in a few hours. Dr. Alvarez came to check up on everyone and me. Dr. A was on top of everything. So passionate so driven and yet I was continued to be amazed. I walked walked walked and that helped so much. I didn’t have any gas pain two of us in the group had no gas pain and the other two did. The next day Ramon the driver took us to the spa. I was attended by Adalia and I got the Swedish massage. I even took a nap during my full body message. I was very impressed that by day 2 we all got a message and none of us were in bed. We were up and down and it was like nothing had happened. All talking on the van and were taken for a ride in the van. I also want to give a big shout out to Cecilia, Emilio and Michelle the nurses who were so helpful. Every other nurse was extraordinary helpful as well Cecilia, Michelle, Emilio, Miguel, Edgar, Adolfo. I appreciate everyone of you all. I had three surgeons apart from Dr. Alvarez come check up on me during my recovery. All of them plus Dr. Alvarez were so lovely and always on top of everything. Making sure everything was fine. Endohospital and it’s staff including Dr. Alvarez have exceeded my expectations. I wouldn’t change a thing. I am over pleased and satisfied. I am home already with my daughter and family. I couldn’t sleep without talking about this amazing experience. Best decision ever best surgeon ever best staff. I would recommend this place to all of you thinking of going don’t hesitate. You are in great hands.

My healthcare insurance does pay for bariatric surgery, but is a 6 to 8 month process, with multiple consultations and extra procedures I felt unnecessary. This process, would have, I believe, cost about the same or more, than paying for the surgery myself. After finding Dr. Alvarez and the “A Team”, I am extremely happy and positive I made the correct decision. They are AMAZING! From first contact with Brandi to leaving the exceptional Endohospital, I could not have received better care (even in the States). Every doctor (surgeon, Assistant surgeon, and Anesthesiologist) visited me each day to check on my recovery. Every staff member is bilingual and was very attentive to my needs/questions. I still have 25 pounds to go, but feel amazing, thanks to the skill and care given at Endobariatric! Thank you so much for giving me my life back!

Absolutely amazing. I had no bariatric insurance coverage and started the process of looking at medical tourism. Yes, he is double the cost of others - and worth double that. Absolutely amazing experience and facility. Amazing nurses and staff. I never felt ignored or like a bother. Was up and walking the next morning and had a massage to help with gas pain. They were all wonderful and caring and helpful - even to my dad who went with me. If I had to find one thing I wasn’t a fan of, (and this is looking really hard to try and find something), it would be the hotel in San Antonio. It had been damaged in the flood prior and was just kind of gross. The room was ok but bathroom was disgusting. My dad and I both said it was awful after having been at Endo in Mexico. I was late being picked up by the hotel from the airport. Other than that, I would do it again tomorrow in a heartbeat. I know if I need anything or have any questions, I can reach out to my coordinator any time or to Dr Alvarez. Absolutely wonderful and life changing experience.
