I had a good impression of Dr.Goodman before I ever met him face to face and now that I have met him my opinion of him has only improved. His staff is wonderful. They make you feel very comfortable.I would recomend anyone who lives in the NY area to go to him.
He and his staff informed my thoroughly about the surgery.I give Dr. Goodman and his staff a A++.

My first impression of Dr. Goodman is that he is very likeable and down to earth. The more we talked the more comforrtable I felt. His office staff was very pleasent and answered all my questions despite the busy atmosphere. There wasn't anything about Dr. Goodman that I didn't like. He made sure that I fully understood the risks of the surgery. I rate Dr. Goodman a 10 out of 10.

Had first appt. in 6/01. Dr.Goodman had 5 other patients to be seen. Even with the busy schedule he first advised each patient to privately view a film. Then he came in and spoke to me. He answered all of my questions. He also has a good sense of humor. I felt very comfortable with him.
he explained about the risks and stated that aftercare is a must.

What I liked the best was that he "listened" to me, and that he did not discount my many questions. He also called me back after I'd made my initial inquiry, which was pretty shocking. I don't think that I have EVER had any doctor call me back themselves. I have heard nothing but great things about him.

when i first met Dr. Goodman i liked him right away. i had already read about him and was very pleased with what i saw. His staff is excellent except for his receptionist..desiree. but as for everyone else they are great.you know he must be good i'm traveling all the way from brooklyn to the bronx for my surgery. you go to where the best is.if you are looking for a good Doctor....well please check out Dr. Goodman. He is truly a good man for the surgery.

WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW I FEEL ABOUT DR. GOODMAN. HE IS A GOD SEND. HE MADE ME FEEL SO AT EASE AND ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS AND HELPED ME FACE MY CONCERNS. HIS ASSISTANT AMY WAS WONDERFUL AND HIS SECRETARY DESIREE WAS THE BOMB. I HAVE NOT REGRETS IN CHOOSING DR. ELLIOT AS MY SURGEON I SPOKE WITH SEVERAL OF HIS OTHER PATIENTS AND THEY ONLY HAD WONDERFULTHINGS TO SAY ABOUT HIM AS WELL. HE CAME HIGHTLY RECOMMENDED BY HIS FORMER PATIENTS. HE HAS A WONDERFUL PERSONALITY AND I AM SO GLAD HE WILL BE PERPORMING MY SURGERY. I HAD WENT TO ANOTHER DOCTOR BUT I WILL NOT LET HIM TOUCH ME. DR. GOODMAN IS THE MAN.

Dr. Goodman rocks!
He is so warm and funny and competant. I went in for my first consultation with him and he put me immediately at ease and addressed the risks, outcomes etc. honestly, My high opinion of him continues grow, post surgery - he is always available for my concerns and body behaving weirdly trips, returns pages and emails quickly.
I went through his Park Ridge, NJ office and the whole insurance process was very easy from my point of view and his assistant Linda was really helpful, thorough and efficient. I almost couldn't believe it when she told me I had insurance approval, I was expecting a long drawn out process, but she and the Doc kept on top of it, and it was a go within 3 weeks.
I would rate the Good Dr. Goodman a solid A. and recommend him highly.

JULY 11, 2001
SO FAR DR. GOODMAN HASN'T LET ME DOWN. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SPEAK TO HIM DURING OFFICE HOURS BUT IF YOU E-MAIL HIM, HE WILL ANSWER. I FIND THAT INCREDIBLE! HE MUST GET A LOT OF E-MAILS AND HE ANSWERS THEM ALL WITHIN 24 HOURS. I HAD TO HELP HIS STAFF GET ME SCHEDULED FOR PRE-OP TESTS. SINCE I AM A TEACHER AND I NEED TO HAVE THIS OPERATION DONE IN JULY SO I CAN RECOVER IN AUGUST SO I CAN GO BACK TO SCHOOL IN SEPTEMBER. EVERYTHING HAS WORKED OUT. IHAVE TAKEN ALL OF MY TESTS, GONE TO THE SUPPORT GROUP, AND DR. GOODMAN HAS SPOKEN TO MY THERAPIST. NOW WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR GHI TO RESPOND.
I'VE DECIDED TO STOP SMOKING TOMORROW. MY LAST PACK WILL BE MY LAST PACK (JULY 2001) THE THERAPIST AND THE DIETICIAN ARE REALLY SUPPORTIVE. THEY SEEM TO UNDERSTAND WHAT EACH OF US ARE GOING THROUGH. IT'S SO MUCH EASIER WHEN YOU SPEAK TO PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM NOT ALONE! I TRULY BELIEVE IN GOD, SO I KNOW THAT HE'LL HELP DR. GOODMAN DO HIS BEST WORK ON ME. SO FAR, DR. GOODMAN IS OKAY IN MY BOOK.

I had my consultation July 5, 2001. It was very informative and Dr. Goodman is terrific. He is very warm, good humored and attentive. His PA, Amy was also very nice. They were able to answer all my questions and they had a few for me as well. I had done my homework before the appointment and had written down my weight loss history, medical history, etc. That was very handy when filling out those endless forms. Dr. Goodman and his team have a great after-care program and support group. They expect all of their patients to attend the support group at least twice before having surgery and hopefully more.
Now I will make appointments with Dr. Goodman's Nutritionist and Psychiatrist. I believe they are booked until September.
Because of insurance issues I will most likely be having my open rny in January 2002.

My first impression was compassion this is a very kind and smart man. His staff was very nice allthough they were extremely busy. I cant say that there was anything that i didnt like about him at all. this was my frist appointment and if approved my surgery would not be untill the end of june. The only negative aspect is the fact that he is extremely booked but is that really a bad thing? I think everyone should know Dr goodman is a great man and excellent dr.
he explained the risks completely. i would rate him a 10. But dr goodman only sees patients one day per week for what i understand so be patients he is worth the wait
