David Miller Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.
My first impression of Dr. Miller was good. He seemed knowledgeable and confident. He took his time answering questions for my daughter and myself and was patient with my daughter who has anxiety problems and really questioned everything.
You can just see how excited Dr. Miller is about his work. I get the impression he could spend all his time in surgery and be perfectly content.
His office staff is friendly and helpful. They always returned my calls in a timely manner. They told me to call any time I need advice or am having problems but so far I haven't needed to call for anything other than my appointments.
The hospital was very busy with admits while I was there. At first when I needed fluids and later after he removed me from the I.V. pain meds I had to keep calling the nurses over and over for fluids and pain meds. It was taking them way too long to get back to me. When I mentioned this do Dr. Miller I seemed to get an immediate response. He must have immediately mentioned it to the nurses.
Dr. Miller is great. He's a competent surgeon and he made sure I was taken care of. His after care diet is ,I think, pretty standard. He expects to see his patients for follow ups at 2 weeks out, 6 months out, 1 year out, 18 months out, 2 years out, then once a year for the rest of your life.
While I know that no one is perfect I can't think of anything negative to say. Overall my experience went smoothly with no problems, and continues to go smoothly.
Rose and the Office staff has been wonderful. They have answered every-one of my calls and have been there for all my anxious questions. They helped me get my information together for the insurance company. .I work in the medical field, in surgery as a matter of fact; and from talking to surgeons and patients from the entire west coast, I found His reputation flawless. I want the best and now I have the best. I found out that a Dr.Randall baker from MI will be here in town and assisting Dr Miller for my surgery
My first Impression was that Dr. Miller was very positive yet straight to the point and honest.
His office staff were nice, i didn't really get a chance to talk with them too much.
What did I like least about Dr. Miller? Hmmmmmmmmm....well....I dunno, so far nothing, I may have to update it later... but for now I think he's great. :)
He addressed the risks of surgery just fine I think, wasn't too negative, but made sure that I knew that there were a lot of risks and possible complications.
I would rate Dr. Miller an 9 (so far) just because no one is a perfect 10. :)
The rest of the questions I'll have to update later.
One thing that I really did like about Dr. Miller is that he was very good at dealing with my anxiety. With other Drs in the past they have tended to just brush off the fact that I have anxiety, and that is a big issue for me. I went in for my first consult and then the next day an endoscopy. Being that I have anxiety i was extremely nervous about the endoscopy. Dr. Miller remembered that I had anxiety, and could probably just tell that I was scared. So he made sure the nurse gave me the anti anxiety medication before anything. He was just very good about doing things the way I wanted it, or at least making me think that he was doing it the way I wanted it! :-D
First impression- Great,explained everything
good and bad, answered all questions,he's very nice. My experience with Miller was wonderful. He comes across a little cocky, but he has confidence in what he does. I think he is very good. I had my surgery on a military base where Miller was a surgeon, but he has gotten out of the military and is practicing at one of the local hospitals now.
